Step 1 of 5

Download the Bosch Smart Home App quickly, easily and free of charge from the App Store.

Let the satisfied customer reviews confirm this: The installation and operation of our universal Smart Home App are self-explanatory and a child's play. The app guides you step by step through the installation process.

Integrate Smart Home Controller

Integrate Smart Home Controller

Step 2 of 5

It's so easy to integrate all the devices in your smart home into the app:

Start the Bosch Smart Home App and scan the QR code of your Smart Home Controller, the heart of your Smart Home System.

To do this, your controller and your mobile device must be on the same network. Simply connect the controller to the router with a network cable and your mobile device via Wi-Fi.

Finally, press and hold the function key until the Cloud and Network LEDs flash. This ensures that no unauthorized person will perform the installation.

Log in and Create rooms

Log in and create rooms

Step 3 of 5

Assign an individual system password that you can easily remember. A customer account or login is not necessary, because all your data is stored locally on your Smart Home Controller.

Now you first create rooms to which you can assign your smart home devices in the next step. Whether it's "Emma's nursery" or "Ben's den of thieves", you are free to choose the name.

Allow remote access?

Step 4 of 5

You also have a choice: Would you like to be able to control the devices in it while you are on the road? Then allow remote access in the menu "Settings > Privacy" for this room and adjust the temperature in the "Living Room" room, for example, to a high level on the way home in order to be received later by a comfortably warm home.

Include devices

Step 5 of 5

Now connect all your smart devices to the Bosch Smart Home App via "Add device":

Simply scan the QR code of each device and determine in which room the device will be used. This code is located on the back or in the battery compartment of your device and also in the packaging.

Simple is good, automatic is better

With your universal smart home app, you can control more than just individual devices manually.

Scenarios
Small fingertip, big effect

Scenarios

Control multiple smart home devices at once with a single fingertip or voice command. This will save you the same routine procedures in the future.

Scenarios

Front door open, alarm system off, lights on, shutters down, temperature up. It's always the same things that you have to do when you come home, before you have really "arrived". In your smart home, on the other hand, a quick tap of the finger is all it takes and all these things happen by themselves - thanks to practical scenarios.

A scenario describes a state that your smart home should assume in a certain situation. With a single tap or voice command, you can start a whole range of pre-defined actions that put your home in the desired state.

Using the Smart Home App, you can use preset scenarios or create new scenarios that you can tailor to your habits and needs.

Scenarios
Automation
Simply let it do it - completely automatically

Automation

Define specific triggers that will automatically start an action or scenario in the future. In this way, your smart home devices will automatically react exactly as you want them to in certain situations.

Automation

For a home that thinks for itself: With individually configurable automations, your smart home devices "know" what they should react to and when. According to the if-then principle, they then carry out defined actions when certain events occur. You can even trigger entire scenarios. In the Bosch Smart Home App, for example, you can define the following: If the living room temperature in summer exceeds your individual desired temperature, the shutters there will automatically lower.

You can even trigger a whole chain of actions. Another example: When the dryer is ready, a lamp in the living area lights up green. If you now make your way down to the basement, a motion detector registers this - and switches on the work lights and radio in the laundry room. So you can unload the dryer there without any further action and relax and fold your laundry.

Authorizations
Parental control made easy

Authorizations

Assign different permissions to different mobile devices so that everyone at home can enjoy the comfort of their own home, but nothing is accidentally misplaced or deleted.

Authorizations

"Mom, I deleted the heating!" - When kids have access to the devices, misfortunes are bound to happen. How good that you can prevent them with the Bosch Smart Home App.

To make sure that everyone at home is comfortable but cannot accidentally change or delete anything, you can set individual authorizations for each mobile device under "Management".

For example, you can restrict the authorizations on the family tablet so that your children can "only operate" your Smart Home devices, but not "operate and manage" them. This prevents unwanted changes.

The Smart Home App provides these services

In addition to manual control, scenarios and automation, preset services also control your smart home

Alarm system

Alarm system

Watchful around the clock and better than any watchdog: With the "Alarm System" service in the Bosch Smart Home App, not only you but also your neighbors are immediately alerted to unwanted guests. Your Eyes Outdoor Camera detects and films conspicuous movements. Your Door/Window Contacts and Motion Detectors react to unplanned intrusion and immediately trigger visible and audible alarms to deter burglars: The siren of your smart smoke detectors sounds a loud alarm, lights come on, Philips Hue lights and smart lights from Ledvance flash a conspicuous red. Burglars will quickly take off. At the same time, you receive a push message via the app and can use the livestream of your indoor or outdoor camera to see what's going on or call the police directly. Your home is thus ideally protected at all times.

Water alarm

Water alarm

Water damage is the most frequent form of damage in homes – and can cost a lot of money and cause a lot of frustration. In your Bosch Smart Home App, activate the “water alarm” in order to discover escaping water immediately and to prevent serious damage.

  • with a loud beeping noise.
  • Lamps that light up in blue also provide a visual signal of the hazard.
  • A push notification allows you to act fast: In the app screen, thanks to photographs and live images of your indoor cameras, you can immediately see what is happening – and can call the emergency services with just a tap of your finger.
Presence simulation

Presence simulation

So that you can go out carefree in the evening or relax at a far away holiday destination:

The Smart Home App features an intelligent presence simulation. When you are not at home, all devices connected via adapter plugs, such as TV, radio, lights and the lighting control system including Philips Hue lamps and smart lights from Ledvance, are switched on and off unevenly by an intelligent random principle. In addition, you can have the roller shutters raised and lowered daily via automation. This way your house looks occupied at all times.

Via remote access, you can check that everything is in order at all times.

Healthy room air: Ventilation reminder

In well-insulated rooms, pollutants and moisture only escape with difficulty – which can result in the air there being even worse than on high-traffic roads. The result: Health risks, fatigue, problems concentrating, headaches and risk of mould.

But between the hustle and bustle of everyday life and our need for convenience, we often forget to ventilate rooms regularly. The solution: Your ventilation reminder service. The pre-configured ventilation light immediately informs you via push notification and/or by lighting up the integrated smart colour lights when your Twinguard measures poor air quality.

You can see at a glance: If the ventilation light is red, it is time to ventilate the room until the light turns green

Climate manager: Heating break & cooling

Climate manager: Heating break & cooling

Depending on the season and desired temperature, you can select the right mode for each room in the climate manager:

Heating, Heating break, Cooling

In summer, or if you are away from home for a longer period of time, you can activate a “heating break”. This mode stops the heating operation and the room temperature regulation, while the radiator valves are still opened automatically for a maintenance check once per week. This means that you can be sure that your heating is working reliably at all times, and that the valve will not calcify over the summer months.

Especially practical in summer: If you have a heat pump with a cooling function at home, you can simply activate “cooling” mode and use your smart underfloor heating to lower the room temperature.

Climate manager: Sustainable ventilation

Climate manager: Sustainable ventilation

Ventilating several times a day improves your room climate and is important for your health. Your Smart Home will ensure that your heating or air-conditioning is temporarily stopped so that it doesn’t go on at full power, wasting energy, while the window is open to ventilate the room:

A door/window contact reports the open window to your Smart Home system. The smart radiator thermostat then decreases the temperature and the radiator stops heating. The option to adjust the response time also allows you to let the cat out without that brief moment with the door open affecting the heating.

Individually configurable time programs also allow you to only heat the rooms you need to, and only when you need to.

Motion light

Motion light

Whether classically in front of the front door, on the way to the basement or at night in the hallway: with the "moving light" service you are no longer groping in the dark.

As soon as the motion detector detects a movement, selected lights are switched on. Of course, this happens the smart way: The function is only triggered when the currently measured brightness - or rather darkness - requires it. You determine both the light sensitivity and the time intervals of the motion light according to your wishes.

You also have the choice of the type of light: you can use all Philips Hue lamps integrated into the system, smart lights from Ledvance or lamps controlled via plugs as moving lights - and you can even use them across rooms.
