These requirements ensure the security and reliability of the motion detector in accordance with the EN 50131-2-2 standard.
The brightness of the orientation light is measured in lux and depends on the distance:
1 metre distance: 1.5 lux
0.5 metre distance: 6.5 lux
0.25 metre distance: 21 lux
Colour temperature of the orientation light on the Motion detector II [+M]
The colour temperature varies between 2800 and 3200 kelvin (warm white).
Frontal movements: People moving directly towards the Motion detector II [+M] may be detected less reliably than people walking across the detection range.
Detection range
Up to 8 metres: The detector detects movements at an angle of 90°.
8 to 13 metres: The detection angle is reduced to 70°.
The motion detector provides reliable detection within these ranges and angles.
Temperature range
Operating temperature: The Motion detector II [+M] works between -20°C and +60°C.
Functional limitations
The PIR sensor (passive infrared sensor) is optimised to detect the thermal radiation of bodies. Its performance is influenced by the ambient temperature:
Colder temperatures: The PIR sensor becomes more sensitive at lower temperatures.
Higher temperatures: At temperatures above 30°C, the sensor becomes less sensitive. Limitations are to be expected from 30°C.
The Motion detector II [+M] can be operated within the specified temperature range, but its sensitivity may vary depending on the temperature.
Once the Motion detector II [+M] has detected a motion, it takes 1 minute by default until a new motion can be detected. If you use the “Motion light” service and have set a switch-on time of less than 5 minutes there, the motion detector detects a new motion after just 30 seconds.
To check the function of your Motion detector II [+M], please open your Smart Home App. In the device management, select the relevant Motion detector II [+M] and, under “Function tests”, select the application relevant to you: “Function test for alarm system” or “Function test for motion light”.
