Software update information
Bosch Smart Home system
06 October 2026
NEW FEATURES
Home+
The upgrade for your Smart Home has been expanded with two new features:
- Demand-optimised heating: For heating systems with an integrated hot-water solution, hot-water preparation can now also be controlled.
- Active battery warning: Automatic push notification when a device’s battery level is low – for continuously reliable operation. Enables early action even when the app is not actively being used.
Universal switches and smart actuators
All second-generation Universal switches and smart actuators (Light/shutter control II, Dimmer, Relay) offer new button-assignment functions:
- Dimmable lamps can be controlled with just one button: on/off with a short press and dimming with a long press.
- Shutters, blinds and awnings can be moved to a previously defined position at the touch of a button.
Automations
- Automations can now be started directly from the automation list without first adding a favourite or widget.
Any existing conditions are ignored in the process, as with other manual triggers. - A new option has been added to the room-temperature control action, allowing you to explicitly override the heating pause.
IMPROVEMENTS
Management of integrated mobile devices
The detailed view for mobile devices has been expanded with additional status information, including the operating system and app version, the time of the initial connection and the status of the push-notification token.
Radiator thermostat II + Radiator thermostat II [+M]
- General improvements to the control of the Radiator thermostat II and Radiator thermostat II [+M]
Apps
iOS
- The visual appearance and performance of the “Liquid Glass” effect have been optimised for devices running iOS 26 or later.
New firmware
- Door/window contact II [+M]
To ensure future compatibility and system stability, the underlying Zigbee SDK has been updated to a newer version. This requires the new firmware version to be installed on the devices. - Smart lamps (Ledvance)
An updated firmware version is available for selected Ledvance models to optimise system compatibility and control behaviour. The following lamp model designations are affected:- A60 TW T
- A60 FIL DIM T
- A60 RGBW B22D T
- B40 TW T
- P40 DIM T
BUG FIXES
Apps
- iOS
A potential app-navigation error related to iOS 27 has been fixed. - Android 17 – local network access permission
To find devices on the local network, the app requires a new permission when running on devices with Android 17 or later. Local network discovery is used to find the Smart Home controller automatically during initial installation or after an IP address change. In these cases, the app will prompt you to grant the permission. If the permission is not granted, the IP address of the Smart Home controller must be entered manually. - Android 17 – location permission
The app has been adapted to the current location-data permission process from Android 17 onwards. The standard Android location button is now used for all Android versions. Android 17 also supports the new system dialogue for one-time access to the precise location, while the existing permission process is retained for older versions.
If location permission is denied, your current location cannot be centred automatically on the Google map; in this case, the position on the map must be set manually.
In addition, when the location configuration page is opened again, a notice about the missing permission is displayed together with the option to adjust it directly in the Android system settings. This change increases system stability and reduces permission conflicts during initial setup and configuration. - Android
- Improved local connectivity when the router has no internet connection.
- Switching states in the app under “Scenarios” > “States” was not performed reliably.
- Various fixes to data backup and restoration.
- General
- Various minor text adjustments and language corrections have been made.
- General fixes for common causes of crashes
Room temperature
- A rare error has been fixed that could unintentionally remove the room-climate control from a room when a Room thermostat II was used.
Data migration
- An error that could incorrectly show devices as offline after a system migration has been fixed.
Smart Home controller / Smart Home controller II
- In rare cases, the controller could fail to restore the network connection automatically after a disconnection, requiring the device to be restarted manually. The internal monitoring logic has been optimised so that the controller now reliably detects such network interruptions and restores the connection fully automatically.
Smoke alarm and Radiator thermostat
- In rare cases, an error could occur when permanently inactive Smoke alarms or Radiator thermostats were deleted. This has been fixed.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Smart plug compact [+M]
- Due to new regulatory requirements under the VDE application rule (VDE V 0126-95), use of the Smart plug in “balcony power plant” mode is no longer permitted in Germany. Due to its design, the device has neither all-pole disconnection nor integrated protection against contact when the plug is unplugged. There is a minimal risk that, after the plug connection has been disconnected, the system may continue to transmit energy to the plug contacts, which could cause personal injury if touched.
Yale Linus® Smart Lock
- To ensure more stable and faster communication, signal routing for connected Yale locks has been fundamentally revised.
Important note: If automatic updates are disabled, the controller update must be performed manually within two weeks to ensure the continued and proper operation of the Yale components.
Smoke alarm
- For the first users, the legally required replacement of Smoke alarms after 10 years of operation is now due. A corresponding notification is therefore now issued via the Message Centre.
