Software update information

Bosch Smart Home system

25 January 2024

NEW FUNCTIONS

  • Controlling the room temperature with the relay
    • As with the smart plug, the relay can now also be used to control the room temperature (e.g. for infrared heating systems) with the new “electric heating” device profile.

  • Controlling a gas boiler with the relay
    • The room thermostat and room thermostat II can now be combined with a relay connected to a central heating system to switch the boiler on or off.

IMPROVEMENTS

  • Firmware
    • With the smart plug compact, an excessively high overall consumption figure was sometimes shown. This issue has been resolved with the new firmware that is now available.

  • Universal switch / universal switch II
    • It is now also possible to control shutters, Venetian blinds and sun blinds using a single button.

  • Radiator thermostat II
    • If the radiator thermostat II shows an E04 error, troubleshooting is now offered and can be started via the device or the app.

  • General
    • Latest security updates for the Smart Home controller/Smart Home controller II and the Bosch Smart Home app.

BUG FIXES

  • Smart plug / smart plug compact, in-wall light control and light/shutter control II (used as light control)
    • In some cases, the devices were unintentionally switched off at midnight. This has been changed. Only status changes in the particular schedule or manual switching in the app or on the device lead to a status change of the respective device.

  • Controlling the room temperature
    • If a room thermostat II 230 V was used to control the room temperature, the boost function could not be used. Boost mode will now always be supported provided there is a radiator thermostat / radiator thermostat II in the room.

  • Smart plug compact
    • In rare cases, it was not possible to save the device name, room assignment or symbol if the device could not be reached. This issue has been resolved.

  • Smoke alarm II
    • In certain circumstances, a smoke alarm issued by the smoke alarm II could only be cancelled via the app, and not on the device. This issue has been resolved.

  • Light/shutter control II (used as shutter control - sun blinds)
    • Firmware update messages for the light/shutter control II were not displayed correctly in the notifications. This issue has been resolved.

  • Bosch Smart Home cameras in cases of alarm
    • In the event of an alarm, only clips that were created at the time the alarm was triggered are displayed.

  • Apple HomeKit
    • A temperature of below 0 °C measured by a thermostat or Twinguard caused problems in the Apple Home app. This issue has been resolved; however, a minimum temperature of 0 °C is always displayed in HomeKit.
    • Note: Please observe the specified ambient temperatures for the use of your Bosch Smart Home devices. You can find this information under “Technical data” in the operating instructions or on the relevant product pages at www.bosch-smarthome.com.

  • Smart Home controller / Smart Home controller II:
    • In some cases, it was not possible to install an update. This issue has been resolved.

  • Android app
    • The display switch-on duration and display brightness for radiator thermostat II and room thermostat II were not displayed correctly on tablets. This issue has been resolved.
    • Under “Scenarios”, the “Add” button disappeared when scrolling to the end of the list and did not reappear even when switching to automations or states. The button is now displayed permanently.
    • The result of the signal strength test was not displayed correctly on tablets. This issue has been resolved.

  • iOS app
    • Automations: The time delay was not shown correctly for “state” actions. This issue has been resolved.
    • Calibration of the light/shutter control II (used as shutter control) was shown as completed before it was actually completed. This issue has been resolved.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Important note regarding widgets
    • Android: When updating to app version 10.19, your previous widgets are deleted once from the home screen for technical reasons. You can then create your scenarios as new widgets. No data will be lost in the process.

  • Android app - system requirements
    • This is the last app update for Android devices on which Android 6, Android 7 or Android 7.1 is still installed as the operating system. The next update to version 10.20 will require Android 8. You will however be able to continue using the app that has already been installed.

  • General
    • Update of various open-source libraries.
    • Some functions and certain improvements and bug fixes will only be available after you have installed the controller update and app update.
