Eyes indoor camera II - Installation
What to do if the 360° indoor camera or Eyes indoor camera II cannot be connected (connection, range)?
Please check if your smartphone is in the same WLAN network as your camera and if there is sufficient signal strength. You can easily check this with your smartphone by checking the WLAN icon on your smartphone at the installation location. This should be at least two out of three bars. If your camera flashes alternately green and red after the QR code detection (360° indoor camera) or after the direct WLAN connection with your smartphone (Eyes indoor camera II), it could not register in your WLAN network. Check your WLAN password and try again. If the camera flashes red and blue alternately, the connection to the Bosch Cloud could not be established.
Why does my camera not support 5GHz in WLAN (connection, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
The 5GHz WLAN is mainly required for the transmission of very large amounts of data over a short distance and is not necessary for the application area of an HD Security camera. By using the 2.4 GHz WLAN, larger ranges and thus a more stable image transmission are possible.
Why do I have to activate the location data to log in the camera and share it in the app (Settings, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
Activating the location data is necessary because the app also gets access to the smartphone's WLAN settings with this release. The smartphone connects to the WLAN that the camera opens during the subsequent startup step.
How do I install the Bosch Smart Home Eyes indoor camera II (Installation)?
You can install the Bosch Smart Home Eyes indoor camera II in a few simple steps. All you need is the free Bosch Smart Camera app and the accessories included in the package.

Eyes indoor camera II - Operation
Eyes indoor camera II - Operation
When can false alarms occur during person detection (Eyes indoor camera II, settings)?
No video analysis algorithm achieves 100% correct detection of events as a human would. Ideally, choose a location from which the camera has a view of possible walking paths of people. The algorithm is optimized to detect upright walking adult humans. Partially obscured people, people not moving, and people in unusual positions are not always classified as people. If persons are only in the camera's field of view for a short moment, and lighting conditions (e.g. backlighting) make detection difficult, this can also impair person recognition. In rare cases, depending on the perspective and lighting conditions, animals can also be interpreted as people.
The LED ring of the Eyes indoor camera II lights up red during normal operation. What does this mean (LEDs flashing, illumination)?
The camera lights up red when recording clips and flashes red when a user has started a live stream of the camera. The red glow of the status LED in these cases serves to make people in the room aware that they are being filmed.
If you want to switch off the red glow of the status LED, e.g. because it is more important to you that the camera is not seen, this function can be deactivated in the camera settings under the item "More" >> "Status LED".
Can I dim the power LED or turn it off completely (Eyes indoor camera II, LEDs flashing, illumination)?
This is possible under "Settings >> More >> Power LED".
What is the siren and how loud is it (sound, alarm, Eyes indoor camera II)?
A siren is installed in the camera. The siren can reach a volume of >75dB in case of an alarm. The siren can be triggered manually via the siren button in the app and it sounds during automatic alarms. If the pre-alarm is activated in the alarm settings in the app, a quieter warning tone sounds before the alarm.
How to be notified in case of alarm (Pre-alarm, Alarm, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
In the event of an alarm, you will receive push notifications, if enabled, on your smartphone. You will receive this notification in case of pre-alarm (if enabled), as well as in case of actual alarm.
How can I use the sensitivity setting to optimize detection (Eyes indoor camera II, Settings)?
Use the sensitivity setting to optimize motion detection and person detection. At the highest two levels, movements and persons behind glass panes are also detected. Depending on the lighting conditions and the perspective of the camera, high sensitivity can also lead to false alarms in individual cases.
Do motion zones capture all motion or only people (Eyes indoor camera II, Settings)?
You can specify for zones whether all movements or only movements of people should trigger clip recording in the zone.
What functions are supported in Alexa (voice control, connectivity)?
Our cameras currently support turning on and viewing the live stream on video-compatible devices.
Our outdoor cameras additionally support the switching on and off of the light.
Can the camera also record at night (360° indoor camera, Eyes outdoor camera, Eyes indoor camera II, detection)?
With the help of an infrared light, the camera can also record in the dark with a detection range of about 8m.
The outdoor camera has a built-in front light for recording at night. This even enables color recordings at night.
Can I use my Bosch camera as an intercom system (360° indoor camera, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
You can use two-way communication by means of the camera and the Bosch Smart Home Camera app. This means that the camera has both a microphone and a speaker.
How can I set my camera to react only to people or to all movements?
Under "Settings" >> "Events" you can define which activities should lead to a clip recording. With the "All movements" option, all detected movements lead to a clip recording. With the "People" option, only video clips are recorded if people are detected in the image. In addition, detection can be limited to zones.
Where can I find the setting for the events (movements, movement zones, person detection, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
The camera must not be in privacy mode for this configuration, i.e. the camera head must be extended. This can be found under "Settings" >> "Events" >> "Motion on".
Does the alarm also go off automatically (Settings, False alarm, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
The main alarm of the camera is automatically "muted" after 300s (or 5min), i.e. the status LED on the camera and the siren go off. The alarm function remains active. The next activity detected by the camera will again directly lead to an active alarm with siren and flashing LED without delay and without pre-alarm.
How do I turn off an automatic alarm (Settings, False alarm, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
You can mute an automatic alarm via the "Siren" button. i.e. the status LED on the camera and the siren go off. The alarm function remains active. The next activity detected by the camera will again directly lead to an active alarm with siren and flashing LED without delay and without pre-alarm.
To turn off the automatic alarm function, please deactivate the "Automatic Alarm" button or put the camera into privacy mode.
Can the camera also be used locally, without internet connection (360° indoor camera, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II)?
The camera does not record event data or clips in the event of a temporary loss of the Internet connection. Furthermore, you will not be able to access previously recorded clips during this time. Once the connection is restored, you can access your recorded clips again as usual.
How do I set up a zone (Settings, Detection, Eyes indoor camera II)?
You can create motion zones under "Settings" >> "Events". When clicking on "Add Motion Zones" you can individually create your zones and distinguish whether your camera should capture all movements or only persons within this zone.
Where can I find the Status LED`s and where the Power LED (LEDs flashing, Eyes indoor camera II)?
Power LED = In the center of the top of the camera head
Status LED = The outer LED ring on the top of the camera head
What are the triggers for clips and alarms (detection, Eyes indoor camera II)?
Events that are detected by the camera cause video clips to be recorded. You can define which activities are to be detected in the camera settings under "Events". For movements, you can select whether all movements or only movements by people should be recorded. In addition, you can select that sounds of a certain volume serve as triggers.
If your camera is integrated with the Bosch Smart Home system, alarms from the system can also result in clip recordings.
What is the "Automatic alarm" (sound, detection, Eyes indoor camera II)?
When your camera detects an activity, the camera will sound an alarm and the camera's LED will flash red. You can configure this "automatic alarm" under "Settings" >> "Automatic alarms".
What happens in case of an alarm (sound, detection, Eyes indoor camera II)?
In the event of an alarm, an alarm tone sounds and the LED ring flashes red. In addition, you will also be notified of the alarm in the app and via push notification (if push notification is activated).
What is the person detection of the Eyes indoor camera II (settings, recording)?
The Eyes indoor camera II distinguishes moving people from other movements. Person detection is used to reduce false alarms and avoid irrelevant clip recordings, for example triggered by pets. Person detection is optimized to detect people moving in rooms (e.g. entering or leaving a room).
How do I have to set up my Eyes indoor camera II so that the person detection works well (Eyes indoor camera II, set-up instructions, settings, false alarm)?
Person detection is optimized to detect persons moving in rooms (e.g. entering or leaving a room).
To ensure that your camera can capture movements and people well, place the camera on a flat surface (table, shelf, refrigerator) at a height of at least 0.8 m (32 ft).
Ideally, choose a location from which the camera has an unobstructed view of possible walking paths of people.
What conditions should be in place for reliable person detection?
For a reliable function of the person detection, a person should be visible in the image for longer than 3 seconds.
If a person moves very slowly or at a long distance from the camera (>6m), the detection quality may be impaired.
The higher the camera is positioned, the better and faster it can detect people.
The camera detects people more easily when they move across the camera's field of view.
If possible, people should be unobscured by furniture or plants within the camera's field of view.
Also avoid direct light into the camera lens, as this can interfere with detection.
Do the motion detection and person detection also work through glass panes (Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II, settings, false alarm)?
At the highest two levels of the sensitivity controller, the detection of persons or movements also works through glass panes. The additional infrared sensor in the lower area of the camera is then not used as a second factor for detection.
What do you use motion zones for (Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera II, settings, false alarm)?
With motion zones, you select only certain image areas that you want to keep a special eye on. For motion zones, you can specify whether all motion or only people should be captured in the zone.
How can I use motion zones to minimize false alarms (Eyes indoor camera II, settings, false alarm)?
In some image areas, motion or people should not trigger clip recording. Images of people on screens, mirror images of motion, or people in windows or mirrors can also result in unwanted clip recording. Use the zone functions to exclude such areas and restrict detection to specific image areas that are relevant.
