My Yale Linus® Smart Lock had a previous owner. How can I reset it to factory settings (settings, prerequisites)?
Yale Linus® Smart Locks that have been used before must be reset to factory settings before they can be set up by a new owner. If you want to set up a used device that was not reset to factory settings before you purchased it, Yale must first obtain permission from the previous owner before you can successfully reset the device.
It may take up to 30 days for the previous owner to respond to your request. If you purchased the lock directly from another person or a third-party vendor, you can contact them and ask them to reset the device to speed up the process. Once the device is reset to factory settings, you will receive a notification and can proceed with setting up the device.
If you purchased the unit from a dealer as a new unit, contact them for replacement.
I use the Yale Linus® Smart Lock in my Bosch Smart Home System*. How does the "Access Control" service work (settings, prerequisites, services)?
In order to use the Yale Linus® Smart Lock with Access Control service, you need a Bosch Smart Home outdoor camera installed next to the Yale Linus® Smart Lock with Yale Connect WiFi Bridge* in addition to the Bosch Smart Home system. As soon as the Bosch Smart Home outdoor camera detects motion, you will be notified via your smartphone. With the unlock button you can now open the door for your visitor. Please note that some of the listed functions may not be available at the start of the Yale Linus® Smart Lock with Yale Connect WiFi Bridge* in the Bosch Smart Home system.

Unlocking the Yale Linus® Smart Lock is not possible for security reasons.
I use the Yale Linus® Smart Lock in my Bosch Smart Home System*. What advantages do I have regarding the alarm system (settings, prerequisites, services, automations)?
By integrating your Yale Linus Smart Lock with your Bosch Smart Home system, the alarm system can be automatically disabled and enabled: As soon as the door is locked, the Yale Linus® Smart Lock sends a message to your Bosch Smart Home controller*. This then automatically activates the Bosch Smart Home alarm system. Of course, the same applies when you unlock the Yale Linus® Smart Lock with Yale Connect WiFi Bridge*. Then the alarm system is automatically deactivated.
To make these settings, you must connect the Yale Linus® Smart Lock with Yale Connect WiFi Bridge* to the Bosch Smart Home alarm system in the automations (under "Scenarios"). Means that you create the Yale Linus® Smart Lock as an "If" function. For example, "WHEN Yale Linus® Smart Lock is locked" "THEN activate alarm system".
Please note that some of the listed functions may not be available at the start of the Yale Linus® Smart Lock with Yale Connect WiFi Bridge* in the Bosch Smart Home System.
I use the Yale Linus® Smart Lock in my Bosch Smart Home System*. Can I activate and deactivate the Yale Linus® Smart Lock on a scheduled basis (settings, prerequisites, services, automations)?
With the integration of the Yale Linus® Smart Lock with Yale Connect WiFi Bridge* into your Bosch Smart Home System, you will never forget to close the door of your home again. Using automation in the Bosch Smart Home app, you can close the Yale Linus® Smart Lock depending on the time of day. Please note that some of the listed features may not be available when starting the Yale Linus® Smart Lock in the Bosch Smart Home System*.
How can I use my Yale Linus® Smart Lock only to pull back the lock latch to open the door (settings, installation, requirements)?
Pulling back the lock latch only works on doors that have a knob on the outside of the door. Doors that have a latch on the outside are excluded from this function. Check in the Yale HOME app if the lock has been configured with a latch. If so, this must be changed in the Yale HOME app. Reset the lock to factory settings, delete it from the Bosch smart home app, then re-learn it, configure it according to the desired settings, and reconnect it to the Bosch smart home app.
I have paired the Yale Linus® Smart Lock with my Bosch Smart Home Alarm System*. When I open the lock, the Bosch Smart Home alarm system should be deactivated. Unfortunately, the alarm still triggers. What can I do (settings, installation, requirements)?
Maybe the response time of your Bosch smart home system is too long. The system needs a certain amount of time to deactivate the alarm system when the lock has been unlocked. The response time varies from system to system and depends, among other things, on how many products you have integrated into the Bosch smart home system.
This could be remedied: You increase the deactivation time in the respective alarm profile in the alarm system. Another possibility may be that you have activated the Auto-Lock settings in the Yale HOME app. This will cause the lock to automatically lock itself over and over again. You can adjust this via the Yale HOME app.
You can also find a remedy in the Bosch Smart Home app. Under the automations when activating the alarm system, deselect the locking type "Auto-Lock" for the trigger "when lock is locked". This means that the alarm system is not activated when the lock is locked via Auto-Lock.
Please note that some of the listed function may not be available to start Yale Linus® Smart Lock with Yale Connect WiFi Bridge* in Bosch Smart Home System.
How many Yale Linus® Smart Locks can I integrate into my system (settings, installation, requirements)?
There is no upper limit of Yale Linus® Smart Locks*. However, please note that you need a Yale Connect WiFi Bridge* for each Yale Linus® Smart Lock.
The "Access Control" service sends me a notification that the Bosch Smart Home outdoor camera has detected movement. However, there is no one in front of the door. What can I do (Eyes outdoor camera, Eyes outdoor camera II, settings, detection, service)?
The Bosch Smart Home outdoor camera may have interpreted shadows as motion. Changing the sensitivity setting in the Smart Camera app can remedy this:
Why is "unlock/unlock" not offered as an action for scenarios & automations (lock, Yale Linus® Smart Lock, settings)?
For security reasons, the "unlock/unlock" function is not offered as an action for scenarios & automations. If a knob is mounted on the outside of the door, the lock is calibrated so that the latch is retracted when unlocking and the door springs open. If this is, for example, sluggish, under tension or pushed open by a draft, the lock can no longer be locked.
Applies to automations, but also to scenarios, since scenarios can also be included as actions in automations.
Which app do I need to use to operate the Yale Linus® Smart Lock (installation, requirements, information)?
To configure the Yale Linus® Smart Lock, you need the free Yale HOME App for iOS or Android*. To operate the Yale Linus® Smart Lock with the Bosch Smart Home System, you need the free Bosch Smart Home App*.
