How do I install the Universal switch and the Universal switch Flex (installation, mounting)?
The Universal switch can be mounted on any flat surface thanks to adhesive surfaces and screws. Furthermore, an unobtrusive integration into existing switch frames is possible, provided that these have an additional field. The Universal switch Flex can be used flexibly in any room.

What to do if the Universal switch / Universal switch Flex is not found and cannot be integrated into my smart home system (connection, range, installation)?
If the Universal switch cannot be integrated, please go through the following steps:
1. perform the installation again. To do this, please check whether the device has already been detected. You can check this in the "Devices" menu item. Remove it in advance if necessary.
2. please check if the batteries are inserted correctly. If the batteries are inserted correctly, the LED on the front lights up briefly.
Perform a reset before reinstalling the batteries. To do this, open the battery cover and press the button located on the front when reinserting the batteries until the Universal switch LED flashes orange. Release briefly and press the button again until the LED turns green. Then follow the instructions for connecting again.
Disconnect the Smart Home controller from the power supply briefly and try again. Also make sure that the component is at least 1 meter away from the controller during teach-in.

What do the light combinations on the Universal switch / Universal switch Flex (blinking codes, LEDs blinking) mean?
The following light combinations and corresponding meanings are available with our Universal switch / Universal switch Flex:
- Red: the operation failed, a command to the Smart Home controller could not be confirmed.
- Orange:a process or update is being performed.
- Green:a process or update has been completed successfully.
- Short orange flashing(after green or red reception message): the batteries are empty.

What is the difference between Universal switch and Universal switch Flex (functions, information)?
Universal switch can be mounted on walls by means of adhesive surfaces or screws. Universal switch Flex can be used flexibly and mobile at home, since no mounting is necessary.
You can remove the switch rocker from the frame of the mounted Universal switch and use it in combination with an empty shell, which you can find in ourWebshopobtain, convert the mounted Universal switch into a Universal switch Flex.
How do I reset the Universal switch or the Universal switch Flex to the factory settings (Reset)?
To reset the Universal switch or the Universal switch Flex to the factory settings, please proceed as follows:
Remove the batteries.
2. while reinserting the batteries, press and hold the button in the center of the switch until the Universal switch LED flashes orange rapidly.
Release the button briefly and press it again until the LED lights up green.
You can then mount the device as usual.

What is a Universal switch / Universal switch Flex and what can it do (functions, information)?
The Universal switches from Bosch Smart Home expand the possibilities for controlling your Smart Home system. At the touch of a button, you trigger scenarios and operate selected devices - as an uncomplicated alternative to controlling them with your smartphone.
The inconspicuous switches can be assigned up to four different, freely selectable functions and operated by all residents and guests of your smart home, without the need for a smartphone or tablet. This simplifies recurring processes. Install the Universal switch next to the door, for example, and trigger the "Leave home" scenario with a quick click. Or opt for the portable Universal switch Flex if you move around the house a lot. You can take it with you from room to room and, for example, lower your shutters to a previously set height from every room.

What functions does the Universal switch / Universal switch Flex bring (what can it do)?
Our Universal switches bring a 4-fold assignable button (standard on the market is a 2-fold button). This allows a comfortable operation of the smart home, as an alternative to the smartphone for everyone, including residents without smartphone (children / elderly) possible.
Custom scenarios (e.g. Coming Home / Leaving Home) can be assigned to the buttons. All Bosch Smart Home products are integrated into the Scenario Manager and can therefore be accessed via the Universal switches. Scenarios can be pre-configured or individually created and assigned to the switch.
The switching of services or a single product can also be assigned directly to the Universal switch. For example, the alarm system or alarm service can be activated / deactivated or the light can be switched on / off (Philips Hue).
