Plug Compact - Installation
To install the Smart plug compact, first make sure that you have a Bosch Smart Home Controller and the Bosch Smart Home App and have successfully set up both. Now start the Bosch Smart Home App and select "Add device". Follow the instructions in the app.
To reset your Bosch Smart Home Smart plug compact, proceed as follows:
1. Remove your Smart plug compact from the socket.
2. While plugging it in, press and hold the button on top of the smart plug until the LED on the button flashes orange rapidly.
3. Briefly release the button and press again until the LED lights up green. The smart plug is now reset to factory settings.

Yes, the Smart plug compact can be integrated into the presence simulation.
To set a timer for your Bosch Smart Home Smart plug compact, add the corresponding Smart plug compact as a favorite. Select the favorite and then swipe to the right. You now have the option to set the desired times here.
Yes, using the button on the top of the device, you have the option to manually activate and deactivate the Smart plug compact on the device.
Yes, you can easily connect multiple Bosch Smart Home Smart plug compact in series.
To increase the range between the Smart Home Controller and a ZigBee3.0-enabled device, place the Bosch Smart Home Smart plug compact approximately halfway between the Smart Home Controller and the device to be reached.
Make sure that there are no major obstacles between the Smart Home Controller, Smart plug compact and the device to be reached.
No, smart plugs of any type must not be plugged in series. Please observe the safety instructions in the Smart Home App and in theOperating instructions.
Once the intended use "Heating" has been selected in the device management, the following heating device types can be connected to the Smart plug compact:

- Infrared heater
It is important to note that the maximum switching power of 3680W must not be exceeded and additionally a Room thermostat II is required as a measuring device.

There is currently no known upper limit that restricts the number of Smart plug compact in a room. However, please note that with very large installations, the response speed of the devices may decrease.

Why can my Bosch Smart Home Smart plug compact only extend the range for certain devices?
The Bosch Smart Home Smart plug compact uses the ZigBee 3.0 wireless protocol. This protocol enables the smart plug to extend the range for other devices that also use ZigBee 3.0.

These devices also use the ZigBee 3.0 protocol and are therefore compatible with the Smart plug compact.
Important notes:
- Only ZigBee 3.0 devices: The smart plug can only extend the range for devices that use the same wireless protocol.
- No support for other protocols: Devices that use other wireless protocols cannot benefit from the range extension.
No, the Smart plug compact must not be plugged into a power strip. Please refer to the safety instructions in theOperating instructions.
The Smart plug compact saves the energy consumption every 30 minutes. If the Smart plug compact is removed from the socket, the information about energy consumption is lost from the last save point. When plugging in the Smart plug compact again, the energy consumption value can thus be slightly reset.
Electrical or electronic devices that are no longer usable, as well as defective or used batteries, must be collected separately and disposed of in an environmentally sound manner (European Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). Use the country-specific return and collection systems for the disposal of waste electrical or electronic equipment.
The Bosch Smart Home Smart plug compact receives firmware updates from time to time. These must be performed manually. If an update is available, you will receive a notification in the MessageCenter of the Bosch Smart Home App and information in the device management.
If the Smart plug compact suddenly becomes unreachable, unplug it briefly and plug it back in.

Do not attempt to repair the device or power lines yourself.

The Bosch Smart Home Smart plug compact is secured against children and pets with the help of a nipple.
Yes, the Bosch Smart Home Smart plug compact can also be used without the Bosch Smart Home Controller. However, plugging in the smart plug is the only available function. For the full range of functions, please use the Smart Home Controller and the Bosch Smart Home App.

For the range extension to work, the Smart plug compact should ideally be plugged in halfway between your Smart Home Controller and the device with reception problems. The range extension cannot be switched off.
Note:
The Smart plug automatically extends the range of other Zigbee devices. If it is disconnected from the power supply (e.g. by unplugging), the amplification is lost and the wireless network rebuilds itself. As a result, some devices may temporarily or permanently lose connection to the Smart Home Controller.
Yes, the Bosch Smart Home Smart plug compact can also be controlled via voice assistants such as Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple HomeKit.
For the partner integration, the Bosch Smart Home Controller including Bosch Smart Home App (iOS, Android) is required.
No, the Smart plug compact is not approved for use in outdoor areas. If used outdoors, all claims for replacement of the defective device will be void.
