Which app do I need to download to use the system (Bosch Smart Home App)?
To set up and control the Bosch Smart Home System, you need the free Bosch Smart Home App. You can find it in the Google Play Store or the Apple Store. The minimum requirement for the respective operating system is Android version 4.4 or higher and iOS 12 or higher. The Smart Home Camera App is also available free of charge in the two App Stores. The minimum requirements are Android version 4.4 or higher and iOS 10 or higher.
An added device is not visible in the app. What can I do (Bosch Smart Home App)?
Select the following menu item in the Bosch Smart Home App: "Add (+)" -> Already installed device. Select the device to be displayed. If the corresponding device cannot be found, please install it again. If the problem persists, briefly disconnect the Smart Home Controller from the power and restart it. If you need further assistance, please contact our customer support.
My smartphone no longer connects to my Bosch Smart Home Controller (Bosch Smart Home App)?
Please make sure that they have remote access enabled or are in their own wifi. In addition, the smart home controller should always be powered and connected to the router. Please also make sure that the top two LEDs on the top of your Smart Home Controller are solid white. If the problem persists, briefly disconnect the Smart Home Controller from power and restart it. If you need further assistance, please contact our customer support.
Why are there so many different apps from Bosch? How are they connected?
We distinguish between the Bosch Smart Home System App and Apps for special domains / products. The Bosch Smart Home System App covers cross-domain use cases with Bosch and integrated non-Bosch products. The System App also takes care of basic functions and covers a wide range of functions, but does not always go into depth. For the special functions there are then special apps and systems, such as the following apps: Bosch Smart Cameras -> Indoor camera 360° and outdoor camera Eyes BSH Hausgeräte-> For products in the household appliance sector Bosch Junkers / Buderus-> Connected Boiler Please note that parts of the described products and their functions may only be available in Germany and Austria.
Downloading the app from the App Store does not work, what can I do (Bosch Smart Home App, Bosch Smart Camera App)
Make sure that you are connected to the Internet and that you are using a current operating system version (at least Android 4.4 or iOS 12 for the Smart Home System app, Android 4.4 or iOS 10 for the Smart Home Camera app). The Bosch Smart Home App is only available from the official App Store. If you cannot find the app despite a correct search in the App Store, your smartphone is currently not compatible with Bosch Smart Home. The phone must also be located in Germany, Austria, UK or France. A download with a different localization is not possible.
Login to the Bosch Smart Home App failed. What can I do?
If the login to the app is not possible, please check if you have a WLAN connection to your router when using the system without remote access. If you are not at home, make sure that your system is enabled for remote access. You will need an Internet connection from your mobile phone. The minimum requirements here are two signal bars and an EDGE connection (marked with an "E" in the reception bar). How can I change/reset my system password (Bosch Smart Home System App)?
Change You can change your password in the settings of your Bosch Smart Home App. To do so, you must enter your current password. You will find the settings for this under: More -> System -> Change system password. Reset If you have forgotten your current password, you can reset it under "Forgot password". However, this only works if the corresponding terminal device was already paired with the Smart Home Controller and is connected to the home network. You can find the settings for this under: More -> System -> Change system password -> Forgot password. Factory setting If the old system password is not known and there is no Smartphone/Tablet already connected, then unfortunately the Smart Home Controller must be reset and the components must be reconnected.
What are the requirements to be able to control my Bosch Smart Home Cameras from my Bosch Smart Home App?
The following points should be fulfilled: 1. The software of your Bosch Smart Home Controller must be up-to-date and any updates should be installed in advance. 2. Your Bosch Smart Home App should also be up to date and any updates available in your App/PlayStore should be installed in advance. 3. All existing Bosch Smart Camera products should be installed, commissioned and accessible via the Bosch Smart Camera App. 4. The Bosch Smart Camera products you want to integrate and operate via the Bosch Smart Home App must be located in the same local network as the Smart Home controller connected to the Bosch Smart Home App. 5. You should also have a stable internet connection of at least 10 Mbit downstream and 2 Mbit upstream to be able to use the full range of functions without restrictions.
What can I do if the installation takes a long time and the update screen is displayed (system update, smart home controller)?
If you use your Smart Home Controller for the first time, it will download an intial update. This process can take up to 30 minutes due to the large amount of software supplied, depending on the available bandwidth. As soon as all LEDs on the controller are constantly lit in white, the link between the Bosch Smart Home App and the Boch Smart Home Controller can be established.
Can I control the Bosch Smart Home App with my tablet?
It is possible to operate the Bosch Smart Home App with a tablet. However, the application itself is optimized for mobile phones.
