System App - Administration
Why are there so many different Bosch apps? How are they connected (access app, information)?
We distinguish between the Bosch Smart Home System app and apps for specific domains / products.
The Bosch Smart Home System App covers cross-domain use cases with Bosch and integrated non-Bosch products. Likewise, the system app takes care of basic functions and covers a wide range of functions, but doesn't always go into depth.
For the special functions, there are then special apps and systems, such as the following apps:
- Bosch Smart Cameras -> Eyes indoor camera 360° and Eyes outdoor camera II
- BSH Hausgeräte -> For products in the household appliance sector
Please note that parts of the described products and their functions may only be available in Germany and Austria.
What can I do if the installation takes a long time and the update screen is displayed (System update, Smart Home controller, Smart Home controller II)?
If you are using your Smart Home controller for the first time, it will download an intial update. This process can take up to 30 minutes due to the large amount of software delivered, depending on the available bandwidth. As soon as all LEDs on the controller are constantly white, the link between the Bosch Smart Home app and the Bosch Smart Home controller can be established.
Can I control the Bosch Smart Home app with my tablet (access app, information)?
It is possible to operate the Bosch Smart Home app with a tablet. However, the app itself is optimized for cell phones.
How do I get to the in-app help in my Bosch Smart Home app (settings, information)?

The login to the Bosch Smart Home app failed. What can I do (password, prerequisites, WLAN, router, remote access)?
If login to the app is not possible at some point, please check if you have a WLAN connection to your router if you are using the system without remote access. If you are not at home, make sure that your system is enabled for remote access. You will then need an internet connection via your cell phone. The minimum requirements here are two signal bars and an EDGE connection (marked with an "E" at the receive bar).

How can I change/reset my system password (Bosch Smart Home System App, Password, Requirements)?
Change
You can change your password in the settings of your Bosch Smart Home app. To do this, you must enter your current password. You can find the settings for this under: More >> System >> Change system password.
Reset
If you have forgotten your current password, you can reset it under "Forgot password". However, this only works if the corresponding end device was already paired with the Smart Home controller and is connected to the home network. The settings for this can be found under: More >> System >> Change system password >> Forgotten password.
Factory setting
If the old system password is not known and there is no smartphone/tablet already connected, then unfortunately the Smart Home controller must be reset and the components must be relearned.
What are the requirements to control my Bosch smart home cameras via my Bosch smart home app (access app, indoor camera, outdoor camera)?
The following points should be fulfilled for this:
The software of your Bosch Smart Home controller must be up to date and any updates should be installed in advance.
2. your Bosch Smart Home app should also be up to date and any updates available in your app/play store should be installed in advance.
All existing Bosch smart camera products should be installed, commissioned and accessible via the Bosch smart camera app.
The Bosch Smart Camera products that you want to integrate and operate via the Bosch Smart Home app must be on the same local network as the Smart Home controller connected to the Bosch Smart Home app.
5. you should still have a stable internet connection of at least 10 Mbit downstream and 2 Mbit upstream to be able to use the full range of functions without restrictions.
Which app do I need to download to use the system (Bosch Smart Home app, requirements, settings, access app)?
To set up and control the Bosch Smart Home system, you need the free Bosch Smart Home app. You can find it in the Google Play Store or the Apple Store.
You can also find the Smart Home Camera app for free in both app stores.

Downloading the app from the app store does not work, what can I do (Bosch Smart Home App, Bosch Smart Camera App, Requirements, IOS, Android)?
Make sure that you have an Internet connection and that you are using an up-to-date version of the operating system.
Minimum requirement for the respective operating system can be found at https://www.bosch-smarthome.com/system-requirements/
The Bosch Smart Home app is only available in the official app store. If you cannot find the app despite searching the app store correctly, then your smartphone is currently not compatible with Bosch Smart Home.
My smartphone no longer connects to my Bosch Smart Home controller. What can I do (Bosch Smart Home app, connection, range, WLAN, remote access, requirements)?
Please make sure that they have activated remote access or are in their own WLAN. In addition, the Smart Home controller should always be powered and connected to the router.
Also, please note if the top two LEDs on the top of your Smart Home controller are glowing white consistently.
If the problem persists, briefly disconnect the Smart Home controller from power and restart it.

A created device is not visible in the app. What can I do (Bosch Smart Home App, Settings, Access App)?
Select the following menu item in the Bosch Smart Home app:
- "Add (+)" -> Already installed device.
- Select the device to be displayed. If the corresponding device cannot be found, please install it again.
If the problem persists, briefly disconnect the Smart Home controller from power and restart it.
