I have received a notification that a new Google Home Action is available. What does this mean for me if I already use Google Home and Google Assistant?
In order to provide our users with an improved voice control experience, it is recommended that you stop using the old Bosch Smart Home Action in Google Home and switch to the new improved Action. To do this, you need to do the following: In the Bosch Smart Home app, open the item "More" --> "Partner" --> "Smart Home Cloud". Activate the Smart Home Cloud. Google Assistant answers with "Sorry I did not get any response" (voice control, Google)?
Currently there is a bug on the part of Google which manifests itself as follows: Voice commands that refer to rooms with a German name, e.g. "Ok Google, switch on living room", are executed (e.g. the adapter plug is switched), but the Google Assistant answers with "Sorry I did not get any response". The following voice commands work without problems: Voice commands that refer to rooms with an English designation, even if they are in German, e.g. "Ok Google, switch kitchen on", are executed and confirmed with the correct response. Voice commands that refer to the names of the devices (without naming a room), regardless of whether they are in German or English, e.g. "Ok Google, switch on the stereo system", are executed and confirmed with the correct feedback. Affected Smart Home components: Smart Plug Light control flush-mounted Unfortunately, we cannot solve this problem ourselves. Google has been informed and asked to fix this problem.
Why is Google missing in the Smart Home App in my external connections (voice control, Google)?
If a smart home controller is reset to factory defaults or if a new, never learned controller starts (initial setup after purchase), then the controller retrieves the status of enabling the Google function (active or inactive). At this point, however, you as a user have not yet accepted the terms and conditions in the Smart Home App. Therefore the Google option is not yet displayed in the Smart Home App. The controller checks the status every 24 hours and displays it the next time you access it (by then, you should have accepted the terms and conditions, i.e. set up your system). So please wait a maximum of 24 hours. Please contact our customer service if there is still no change after this waiting period.
Who or what is Google Assistant (voice assistant, voice control)?
Google Home / Google Assistant is a voice control service from Google and allows you to control selected devices in your home using human speech. This form of voice control is based on a working Internet connection. The evaluation of the spoken commands and the triggering of the respective device functions are realized by Google. The Google Assistant is the Google Voice Assistant and is located in Google Home. In Google Home, voice input can be made by the Google Assistant either by software alone or by hardware products. While most Android smartphones are already equipped with Google Assistant, you also have the possibility to control your Google Home through hardware devices like the Google Mini or the Google Home.
Which Bosch Smart Home components can already be operated via the "Google Assistant" today (voice control)?
At the beginning you can use the Google Assistant to control the radiator thermostat, the room thermostat underfloor heating, the flush-mounted light control, the smart plug, as well as scenarios. Please note that parts of the described products and their functions may only be available in Germany and Austria.
