360° Indoor Camera - Installation
Can I also use the 360° indoor camera or the Eyes indoor camera II in protected outdoor areas (requirements, mounting, installation)?
The product is only suitable for use in residential houses, apartments and rooms with use similar to living space and may only be used indoors together with original Bosch Smart Home components.
Any other use is not in accordance with the intended use. Any resulting damage is excluded from liability.
Which settings are retained after a reset (360° indoor camera, Eyes outdoor camera II, reset)?
The following data is not deleted by resetting the camera with the "Reset" function of the Bosch Smart Camera App:
- Service log files
- Saved rules for day or night settings
- Video recording in the Bosch Cloud
This does not apply to a reset process that was triggered directly on the camera and thus via the reset button located on the device. In this case, only the service log files are retained.
What to do if the 360° indoor camera or Eyes indoor camera II cannot be connected (connection, range, installation, mounting)?
Please check if your smartphone is in the same WLAN network as your camera and if there is sufficient signal strength. You can easily check this with your smartphone by checking the WLAN icon on your smartphone at the installation location. This should be at least two out of three bars. If your camera flashes alternately green and red after the QR code detection (360° indoor camera) or after the direct WLAN connection with your smartphone (Eyes indoor camera II), it could not register in your WLAN network. Check your WLAN password and try again. If the camera flashes red and blue alternately, the connection to the Bosch Cloud could not be established.
Why do I scan the QR code with the camera (360° indoor camera, Eyes outdoor camera, installation, WLAN)?
Your app generates a QR code based on your SSID (wifi name), password, and connection key to allow the camera to connect to your home network and to the Bosch Cloud. Hold the QR code in front of your camera lens at a distance of about 5-30 cm in normal daylight. Once the camera has detected a correct QR code, it will sound a confirmation tone (Bing) and the camera will glow solid green. After that, the blue flashing light indicates the connection establishment to the Bosch Cloud and once this connection is established, a continuous blue glow is displayed for about 30 seconds.
Please note: If the W-LAN settings of your router have changed, but the camera has not yet been re-tuned, an audio signal will be generated to indicate an unsuccessful connection.
Important: Please do not add a new camera, but use the "Camera Settings >> More" in your Bosch Smart Home Camera App for this and adjust the wifi settings accordingly.

- Do you have a DS-Lite connector?

- o Then restart the camera and router.
My 360° indoor camera is permanently red and I can't teach it. What can I do (no function, connection)?
While the camera is rebooting, the status LED is permanently red. This state should end automatically after 10-15 min.

- o Then restart the camera and router.
My 360° indoor camera is flashing red and I can't teach it. What can I do (no function, connection)?
If unexpected problems occur, your camera will enter a special mode and flash red.
Please check the following points:
- Do not press the reset button while connecting the camera to power.
- Provided that the camera has already acknowledged the QR code with a bright sound, a new update will be downloaded from our servers. This can take up to one hour.

Please note: In Germany, filming or photographing natural persons requires the explicit consent of the party concerned. 360° Indoor Camera - Operations
Can the camera be used locally, without internet connection (360° indoor camera, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera, connection, functions)?
The camera does not record event data or clips in the event of a temporary loss of the Internet connection. Furthermore, you will not be able to access previously recorded clips during this time. Once the connection is restored, you can access your recorded clips again as usual.
Can I use my Bosch camera as an intercom system (360° indoor camera, Eyes indoor camera II, Eyes outdoor camera, functions)?
You can use two-way communication by means of the camera and the Bosch Smart Home Camera app. This means that the camera has both a microphone and a speaker.
Can the camera also record at night (360° indoor camera, Eyes outdoor camera, Eyes indoor camera II, recording, detection)?
With the help of an infrared light, the camera can also record in the dark with a detection range of about 8 meters.
The outdoor camera has a built-in front light for recording at night. This even enables color recordings at night.
What messages are sent via push notification from the camera to your smartphone (information, indoor camera, outdoor camera, detection, connection)?
Messages are sent for the camera when the following events occur
- Once an event has been detected by the camera
- If the camera loses connection
- An e-mail is sent after successful integration of a camera
- If you want to temporarily share the camera usage with a friendly contact, this person will also receive an email
- Once the time period defined for sharing a camera has expired for a user.
Does it make sense to replace the existing memory card with a larger one (360° indoor camera, information)?
The existing memory card (Micro SD / SDXC / Class 10 / 8 Gigabyte) is perfectly adequate to support the required functionality for the Bosch Smart Home 360° indoor camera in the best possible way. Replacement is only recommended in the unlikely event of a defect in the memory card itself.
Expanding the memory by using a larger memory card does not bring any advantages at the moment - neither in terms of speed nor in terms of the existing product features.
If you have already removed the memory card from the device, please note when inserting it that the contacts must be on top (top view) and visible on the front of the card so that it snaps into the memory card slot as intended.
How does the indoor camera behave during thunderstorms - is the lightning detected as movement and does the camera then report an alarm (detection, information, functions)?
If the Motion detector is triggered during the flash, then an event may be generated. The light of a flash is usually sufficient to trigger the video alarm.
For video analysis, it doesn't matter if the flash is in front of or behind glass. The Motion detector runs on heat and could possibly be triggered as well.
Can I also mount the Bosch Smart Home 360° indoor camera on the ceiling (mounting, installation)?
Even though this is quite possible from a technical point of view, as long as the camera is vertically aligned, the Bosch Smart Home 360° indoor camera is currently not designed for ceiling mounting or the operation in the app is designed for it.
What happens in case of an alarm (alarm system, 360° indoor camera, Eyes outdoor camera)?
Once you have activated your camera, you will receive a notification about each registered incident via your app. You can now look directly into your selected recording area via livestream and communicate via the implemented intercom function if necessary. Don't worry, even at night your indoor camera transmits a sharp image thanks to infrared technology.
If you have activated home monitoring, different scenarios start depending on the connected hardware. For example, you will get a notification on your smartphone, your Philips Hue lamps will flash red and your Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarms will trigger with a special alarm sound.
How exactly do I turn the Bosch Smart Home 360° indoor camera on/off on the device itself (settings)?
To extend, tap the camera head vertically from above with your finger or fingernail with medium strength twice in succession within one second. A sound is then heard (can be optionally deactivated) and the camera extends the head with the camera lens. At this moment, the recording of the event begins.
Repeat the process if you want to stop monitoring by the camera. Alternatively, you can of course turn the camera off and on via the Bosch Smart Camera app or the Bosch Smart Home app.
