Smart Plug - Installation
My Bosch Smart plug cannot be connected. What can I do (plug, installation, problem, reset, reset)?
If the Smart plug cannot be integrated, reset the device to the factory settings.
Press the system key when plugging into a socket until the LED flashes orange (at least 4 seconds).
Then release the button and press it again until the LED on the front lights up green.
The device will now restart and can be re-tuned via the Smart Home app.

Please also note ourInstallation videoin this article or on ourBosch Smart Home Youtube Channel.
What can I do if the Smart plug is no longer accessible (connection, range, installation, mounting)?
If your Smart plug is no longer accessible, please check whether it can still be controlled directly on the device by hand.
If this is the case, it is possible that the distance between the controller and the component is too great, or that other products are having a disruptive effect on the connection.
Make sure that the component is at least 1 meter away from the controller when testing.
If the device is still not accessible, please perform a reset on the device (reset to factory settings).

Smart Plug - Operations
Smart Plug - Operations
The consumption view does not change even though I have plugged in or unplugged a device. What am I doing wrong (Smart plug, information)?
It may take some time until the new value is displayed in the app. If this does not change over time, briefly unplug the Smart plug and plug it in again. The correct consumption is then displayed.
What do I have to consider when using the Smart plug? Are there any restrictions on the operation of the Smart plug (prerequisites, plug)?
The following restrictions must be observed when operating the Smart plug:
- Check that the scope of delivery is undamaged. Only install parts that are in perfect condition. Only connect the Smart plug to an easily accessible mains socket outlet with protective contacts.
- In case of danger, disconnect the device from the mains socket.
- Do not plug Smart plugs one after the other.
- Do not use Smart plugs in power strips or with extension cords.
- Do not connect any terminal devices whose unattended switching on can cause fires or other damage (e.g. irons).
- Always unplug the end device from the Smart plug before making any changes to the end device (e.g. changing the bulb).
- Devices with electronic power supplies (e.g. televisions or high-voltage LED lamps) are not resistive loads. They can generate inrush currents of over 100A. Switching such loads leads to premature wear. As a result, the connected load may not be switched off reliably.
- Do not use the Smart plug for disconnecting. The load is not galvanically isolated from the mains.

Can I plug the Bosch Smart plug into a power strip (requirements)?
Operation in a power strip is not recommended by us.
Why can I no longer find the "Automatic switch-off" function for the Smart plug (Functions, Settings, Automations)?
The function has been removed because you can implement a conversion via automation.
To do this, set the following automation:
1. WHEN Smart plug is switched on
2. AND period 20-24 h
3. THEN after 5 minutes Smart plug off.
The shutdown function can thus be configured in much more detail. In addition, multiple automations with different shutdown conditions can be configured.
What happens to the Smart plug after a power failure (information, automations)?
In the event of a power failure, your Smart plugs are switched off by default as soon as the power failure is over.
You can turn them back on either on the device or in the app.
If you have created automations with the Smart plug as an Actuator, you will then control the Smart plug normally again.

Can my Bosch Smart plug increase the range of my other Bosch Smart Home devices (range extension)?
The Smart plug can increase the range between the Smart Home controller and the following devices:
- Light control (DE/AUT only)
- Shutter control (DE/AUT only)
- Room thermostats
- Room thermostats floor heating (only DE/AUT)
- Radiator thermostats
- Door/window contacts
- Smoke alarm
- Smart plug
- Universal switch (Flex)
For range extension to work, the Smart plug should ideally be plugged in halfway between your Smart Home controller and the device with reception problems.
It is possible to "connect in series" at least two Smart plugs to further increase the radio range. The "range extension" function must be activated for the corresponding Smart plugs. Further configuration is not required.
In principle, this function should be activated with as few Smart plugs as possible in order to keep signal propagation times short and to avoid unnecessary loading of the frequency band.
Important: Each additional signal-processing component increases the signal propagation time and thus also the response time when controlling your end devices. Each active component generates additional data traffic in the frequency band.

The versatile Bosch Smart plug gives your electrical appliances networked intelligence in a flash.
You always have your current energy consumption in view with the radio-controlled socket.
Intelligent socket instead of a simple power outlet: with the Bosch Smart plug, you can add additional functions to almost any conventional electrical appliance.
Thanks to the programmable on/off function, the power supply to connected devices is controlled automatically. For example, in the future your kitchen appliances will always start the day a few minutes before you: When you come into the kitchen, the coffee machine is already preheated and ready for use.
Adjust the start time to your needs via the wireless socket and choose a different rhythm for the weekend - so you can sleep longer on Sunday and still enjoy your coffee right after getting up.
