Water Alarm help

The Bosch Smart Home Water alarm should be placed near water-carrying pipes or near a water-carrying device. Place the Bosch Smart Home Water Sensor on a smooth and even surface so that leaking liquids can be optimally detected.

Water alarm should always be placed flexibly in the room. The Water alarm will signal if it is moved. Please note that sticking could constitute improper use and may invalidate warranty claims.

If you have not already done so: Download the Bosch Smart Home app from the App Store or Google Play Store and commission the Smart Home controller you need. Then open the Bosch Smart Home app, navigate to the device settings and press "Add devices". Then follow the instructions in the app.

Please note that the installation service is currently only available in selected regions of Germany.

Remove a battery from the Water alarm. While reinserting the battery, press and hold the button until the LED flashes orange. Release and press again until the LED lights up green. The Water alarm will now reset itself to factory settings.

The initial situation is the teaching of the Water alarm. During this phase, the Water alarm is moved. After successful inclusion in the Bosch Smart Home systems, the behavior of the Water alarm is now tested in the event of movement. However, the Water alarm does not respond. Also, no push notification is sent to the smart home app.

The Bosch Smart Home Water alarm firmware has been programmed so that the Water alarm does not respond to movement for 3 minutes during the teach-in process.

Each time the Water alarm is moved during this time, this function resets.

Therefore, leave the Water alarm untouched for at least 3 minutes after completing commissioning.

If the Bosch Smart Home Water alarm goes crazy due to animals or people, you will automatically receive a push notification to your smartphone.

If the connection between your Water alarm and the Bosch Smart Home controller is poor, either bring the two devices closer together or use the Smart plug compact as a range extender.

The Water alarm is splash-proof from all sides IP44. Complete immersion in water must be avoided.

You can deactivate the alarm yourself on the device and via the Bosch Smart Home app you also have the option to mute the alarm.

The focus of the Bosch Smart Home Water alarm is on detecting a possible water leak and not on shutting off water pipes.

With the Bosch Smart Home plug compact you have the possibility to extend the range of the Smart Home controller.

All cameras integrated in the Bosch Smart Home are activated in the event of a water alarm.

You have the option to deactivate the Bosch Smart Home Water alarm on the device itself by pressing the black button on the bottom.

Alarm forwarding is not possible. However, you will receive acoustic and visual feedback via app and integrated smart LEDs.

Your Bosch Smart Home app will alert you when the battery level is below 30%.

Electrical or electronic equipment that is no longer usable and defective or used batteries must be collected separately and recycled in an environmentally friendly manner (European Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). Use the country-specific return and collection systems for the disposal of waste electrical or electronic equipment and batteries.

There is no limit to the number of devices that can be used with Bosch Smart Home Water alarms. However, be aware that with very large systems, the response speed of the integrated devices may decrease.

The scope of delivery of the Bosch Smart Home Water alarm includes the Water alarm itself as well as the Quickstart Guide and the batteries already inserted.

You can use the Bosch Smart Home Water alarm without the Bosch Smart Home controller, but there will be no notification via app in case of alarm. For full functionality, it is recommended to use the Bosch Smart Home Water alarm in combination with a Bosch Smart Home controller.

In case the Bosch Smart Home Water sensor detects a leaking liquid, the reporting Water alarm triggers an acoustic alarm, you receive a corresponding message on your smartphone, integrated Smart LEDs flash blue and if you have integrated cameras into the system, they provide a livestream.

Cover both contacts on the bottom of the Water alarm with your finger or provide some liquid. Do not hold the triggering detector to your ear.

If necessary, contact your homeowner's or building insurance company.

Like the Bosch Smart Home Twinguard, the Bosch Smart Home Motion detector and the Bosch Smart Home Twist, the Bosch Smart Home Water detector uses the Zigbee 3.0 wireless protocol.

No spare parts are offered for the Bosch Smart Home Water Sensor. If you have any difficulties with your product, please contact Bosch Smart Home Customer Service.

The typical battery life of the Bosch Smart Home Water alarm is around three years, depending on usage.

The volume measured at a distance of one meter is 75dbA.

The Water alarm has IP44 protection class and is therefore protected against splashing water from all sides.

The Bosch Smart Home Water alarm cannot currently be integrated into the alarm system as an acoustic alarm transmitter.

The range of the Bosch Smart Home Controlelrs is approx. 100m in the open field. Structural conditions affect the range. To extend the signal you can use the Smart plug compact.

If liquid runs under the Bosch Smart Home Water alarm, the golden contacts on the underside are closed. This closes an electric circuit and an acoustic signal sounds from the detector.

Clean the device with a soft, clean, dry and lint-free cloth. For the removal of heavier soiling, the cloth can be slightly moistened with lukewarm water

Since the Water alarm is a safety-related device, the use of rechargeable batteries is strongly discouraged. Please use the supplied batteries or batteries of the same type.

It is currently not possible to display the Water alarm on the Bosch Smart Home Twist display.

An integration of the Bosch Smart Home Water alarm is currently planned, but not yet implemented.

The Bosch Smart Home Water alarm triggers an audible alarm for all electrically conductive liquids.

It is recommended to check the functionality of the Bosch Smart Home Water alarm after commissioning and during longer absences.

The Bosch Smart Home Water alarm has a height of 25mm. The possibility of using it under washing machines therefore depends on the type of washing machine.
