Bosch Smart Home top ratings and other awards

In 2023, COMPUTER BILD and the independent market and opinion research company Statista once again honoured the TOP BRANDS in the home & living sector as part of an independent survey.

Over 2500 smart home owners from all over Germany shared their experiences of smart home products.

Bosch Smart Home was awarded prizes in the following product categories:

• Alarm systems: 2nd place

• Smart surveillance cameras: 4th place

The renowned iF Design Award will once again go twice to the Bosch Smart Home product family in 2023.

The winners are:

• Radiator Thermostat II
• Universal Switch II

The reddot design award is an international design competition for product design, communication design and design concepts.

In 2023, two of our products will receive awards:

• Radiator Thermostat II
• Room thermostat II

Bosch Smart Home was voted the “best smart home provider” in the CHIP consumer survey – across all subcategories:

• Alarm systems
• Surveillance cameras
• Thermostats
• Apps
• System

The survey focused on the following key points:

• 1. Familiarity with the brand
• 2. Level of trust in the brand
• 3. Extent to which the brand influences a specific purchase decision by the test person

The survey was carried out among 1000 selected test persons who, after statistical adjustment, are representative of the entire German population over the age of 18 and are interested in the subject of the smart home.

An external partner conducted the actual survey while the Chip team and the Chip test centre evaluated and processed the results.

We are thrilled that the Bosch Smart Home products along with the app and the system interaction scored highly across the board.

• Smart shutter and blind control: 1st place

• Smart indoor sockets: 1st place

• Switches and dimmers: 2nd place

• Indoor sensors (includes window/door contacts, motion detectors, light sensors and temperature measuring devices): 2nd place

• Smart home control: 2nd place

The independent research institute for IT security, AV Test, said that the re-certification of the Bosch Smart Home controller and the Bosch Smart Home app as an “Approved Smart Home Product” was highly deserved.

For the 6th time in a row, the system passed all tests without criticism.

The security of the Bosch Smart Home system was praised explicitly:

• The analysis found “absolutely no information that could potentially be exploited by a possible attacker”.
• “The Smart Home controller does not have any undocumented interfaces or ports, while access is also secured in the best possible manner in all other respects.”
• Praise for the app: “With the Bosch Smart Home system … [the user] … has the option to opt out of data collection – Exemplary!”
• “The Privacy Statement for the system is also still once of the best and most detailed that we encounter in our day-to-day testing.”

Top spot in the overall rankings – As the reigning champion, Bosch Smart Home was once again voted in first place in the customer satisfaction survey conducted by PC Magazin in 2022.

And it was not just in the overall rankings that Bosch Smart Home took the lead – it was frequently voted the best brand in the array of smart home products in the individual categories as well:

• 1st place – Security

• 1st place – Brand/manufacturer

• 2nd place – Smart home app

• 2nd place – Special prize for energy consumption

• 4th place – Customer service

• 4th place – Product quality

In February 2022, “PC Magazin” together with its own service provider, the “FiFt” institute, surveyed around 809 users of smart home solutions on a range of smart home topics.

In addition to Bosch Smart Home, the providers AVM, Amazon Alexa, Google, Homematic, Philips, Samsung and Deutsche Telekom were also included in the customer satisfaction survey.

The Red Dot Award is an international designer competition for product design, communication design and design concepts.

In 2022, Bosch Smart Home wins an award for the excellent design of its:

Quality you can trust: The Bosch Smart Home system was officially declared a “Trusted IoT-Device” by TÜV.

In 2022, the technical inspection institute verified the compliance of our Smart Home system with the “Trusted IoT-Device requirements catalogue, version 2”.

The

• secure data processing

of the Bosch Smart Home system were successfully verified and consequently awarded the official TÜV “Trusted IoT-Device” certificate.
