Google Home / Assistant
Google Home / Assistant
Google Home / Google Assistant is a voice control service from Google and enables the operation of selected devices in your home via human language. This form of voice control is based on a functioning internet connection. The evaluation of the spoken commands as well as the triggering of the respective device functions are realized by Google. Google Assistant is the Google voice assistant and is integrated in Google Home.
Voice input for Google Home through Google Assistant can be done either solely through software or through hardware products. While most Android smartphones are already equipped with Google Assistant, you have the option to control your Google Home also through hardware devices such as the Google Mini or the Google Home.
Initially, you can control the radiator thermostat, the room thermostat for underfloor heating, the flush-mounted light control, the smart plug, as well as scenarios via the Google Assistant.
Please note that parts of the described products and their functions may only be available in Germany and Austria.
If a Smart Home Controller is reset to factory settings or a new, never-before-learned controller starts (initial setup after purchase), the controller retrieves the status of the Google function activation (active or inactive). At this point, however, you as a user have not yet accepted the Terms and Conditions in the Smart Home app. Therefore, the Google option is not yet displayed in the Smart Home app.
The controller retrieves the status every 24 hours and displays it at the next retrieval (because by then you should have already accepted the Terms and Conditions, i.e., set up your system).
Please wait a maximum of 24 hours. Please contact ourCustomer Serviceif no change is visible after this waiting period has elapsed.
Currently, there is still a bug on Google's side that manifests as follows:
Voice commands that refer to rooms with a German name, e.g., "Ok Google, turn on Wohnzimmer", are executed (e.g., the plug is switched), but the Google Assistant responds with "Sorry I did not get any response".
The following voice commands work without problems:
Voice commands that refer to rooms with an English name, even if given in German, e.g., "Ok Google, turn on kitchen", are executed and confirmed with the correct response.
Voice commands that refer to device names (without mentioning a room), regardless of whether in German or English, e.g., "Ok Google, turn on the stereo system", are executed and confirmed with the correct response.
Affected smart home components:
- Plug adapters
- In-wall light control
Unfortunately, we cannot fix this problem ourselves. Google has been informed and asked to resolve this issue.
