Home Connect
To connect your Bosch home appliances to the Bosch Smart Home System, first ensure that your home appliances are already connected to your Home Connect account.
For more information, please refer to the respective enclosed operating instructions.
1. Once you have connected your appliances to the Home Connect app, please open the Bosch Smart Home app.
2. Open "Settings >> Privacy". Now activate remote access under "Remote Access". Then go back one step and select "Partners".
3. Select "Home Connect".
4. Then click on "Link account" and sign in with your Home Connect information. Your home appliances should now be transferred to the Bosch Smart Home app, otherwise you can add the corresponding appliances in the Smart Home app under "Management" >> "Devices" >> "Add device" after connecting the two apps.
Please also note the following requirements:
1. Connect your Bosch home appliance to the power supply.
2. Connect your Bosch home appliance to your Wi-Fi.
The following functionalities are currently available to you:
- Direct remote start.
- Countdown until the program starts.
- Countdown until the program ends.
- Changing the end time within the possible end times (dishwasher only).
- Integration of home appliances into scenarios and automations.
Currently, you can conveniently integrate appliances from the areas of washing, drying, baking, cooling, dishwashing, as well as coffee machines into the Bosch Smart Home System. In scenarios and automations, all areas except baking and refrigerator can be integrated. Further integrations of Home Connect products from the home appliance area are currently being reviewed.
Please check the following points first.
- Is your appliance connected via WLAN and working via Home Connect?
- Is your appliance registered in your user account with Home Connect?
- Is the Energy Manager activated?
- Is your Bosch home appliance listed on the compatibility list?

Important: Home Connect must be available and working.
In your Bosch Smart Home App, you have access to the basic functions of your Bosch home appliances for status information and control. The Home Connect App provides you with all additional functions of the respective devices.
You first need a well-functioning Wi-Fi connection (you may need a Wi-Fi repeater to boost the signal).
Furthermore, your Bosch home appliance must be compatible with Home Connect and should already be registered with a Home Connect user account.
Please check whether Remote Start has been activated on your home appliance. The appliance must not be opened again.
After the connection is interrupted, for example by opening the door of a dishwasher, Remote Start must be activated again. If this does not happen, your Bosch Smart Home system unfortunately cannot access your home appliance.
Please check the following points:
- Have you activated the energy manager for remote start on your appliance? For your washing machine or dryer, proceed as follows: Select program >> Press start >> Activate remote start. For your dishwasher, the following steps are required: Select program >> Activate remote start >> Press start.
- Is your appliance connected via Wi-Fi and does it have a sufficiently strong signal?
Important: Only the following functionalities are currently available to you:
- Direct remote start.
- Countdown until program start.
- Countdown until program end.
- Modification of the end time within the possible end times (dishwasher only).
- The time can be moved forward; start cannot be canceled.
Furthermore, it is important to check whether Home Connect is available and functioning (check in the Home Connect App).

To do this, use the controls on your home appliance to access the respective device settings. On your dishwasher, for example, you will find this function under the menu item "Reset to factory settings". On your washing machine or tumble dryer, the menu item is called "Network settings >> reset".

Home Connect is specifically and comprehensively focused on the area of home appliances.
The Home Connect devices will be successively integrated into the Bosch Smart Home system (but will continue to exist separately) and will be an important area of the cross-domain system.

Before a Home Connect home appliance can be controlled and monitored remotely, the following steps must be completed:
1. Load the machine with household items and all necessary additives (detergent, cleaning agents, etc.).
2. Actively close the machine.
3. Switch on the energy manager.
4. Press the "Remote Start" button.
5. The end time can now be flexibly set remotely (via the app) within the end time set on the appliance (e.g. 24 h).
Note: Steps 3 and 4 depend on the individual operating functions of the appliance types and may not apply.
Various framework conditions are set here:
1. You cannot change the start time beyond the time window set on the appliance.
2. The wash program can only be shifted within a time window of 6 hours, so that, for example, your laundry stays fresh and odor formation is effectively prevented.
Yes, any manual intervention on the appliance itself (e.g. opening the machine) interrupts the scheduled remote start – this is a safety feature. A postponement outside the set time window or a status query and/or setting via app are then no longer possible.
