Resolving connection issues with the Bosch Smart Home Controller
If your Bosch Smart Home Controller is not reachable, you can try the following steps:
Step 1: Check your internet connection
If you are at home, make sure there is a Wi-Fi connection to your router. If you are not at home, make sure you have enabled remote access. You need an internet connection on your mobile phone. At least two signal bars and an EDGE connection (indicated by an "E" next to the signal bars) are required.
Step 2: Check for app updates
Check if there is an update for the Bosch Smart Home App in your app store. Updates may include performance improvements and bug fixes.
Step 3: Restart the controller
Disconnect the Smart Home Controller from power for about 2 minutes and plug it back in. After that, wait until at least two LEDs are constantly lit. Then check the reachability of the Smart Home Controller again.
Important note
The Smart Home Controller must be connected to the same router that your smartphone uses to communicate with the controller.

Step 3: Manual integration in the app
Try to integrate the Smart Home controller manually in the app using the IP address and the key.
Step 4: Reset the controller
As a last measure, you can perform a reset on the controller, i.e. a reset to factory settings. Please note that existing configurations and installed components will be deleted from the controller.

What to do when the Bosch Smart Home App displays an update that is not available?
If your Bosch Smart Home App displays a notification about a missing software update for the Bosch Smart Home controller when starting, this is because the app version on your mobile device or tablet is newer than the version on the controller. An update has already been assigned but could not yet be installed.
If you are currently unable to update your Smart Home controller, you can continue to use the app temporarily by clicking on "Continue to App". Most functions should be available, but unexpected behavior may occur. In this case, technical support is provided exclusively to bring the Smart Home controller up to date.
If the version difference between the app and Smart Home controller becomes too large, access will no longer be possible and the Bosch Smart Home controller must be updated.
Here are some steps you can follow to resolve this issue:
1.Enable automatic updates: Make sure that automatic updates are enabled in the Bosch Smart Home App. This allows the controller to update its software.
2.Check the internet connection: Your Bosch Smart Home controller should be connected directly to the router and have unrestricted internet access. Make sure it is not connected to a guest LAN.
3.Disconnect power supply: Briefly disconnect the Smart Home controller and your router from power.
4.Restart router: Turn the router back on and wait until it is online again and internet is available.
5.Put Smart Home controller back into operation: Reconnect the Bosch Smart Home controller.
6.Wait for the update: Updating the software of your Bosch Smart Home controller can take up to 30 minutes. Once all LEDs on the device are constantly lit white, start the Bosch Smart Home App and check whether you can access your Bosch Smart Home system.
Please be patient and follow these steps carefully to ensure that your system is updated properly.
The Bosch Smart Home system solutions cannot be used without a controller, with the exception of Radiator thermostats, light and shutter actuators. However, the range of functions is significantly limited (e.g. no firmware update, no deactivation of end position detection).

Maximum number of devices in the Bosch Smart Home system
The Bosch Smart Home system is designed for use in private single-family homes or apartments. It allows you to integrate a variety of smart devices. However, for technical reasons, there is an upper limit to the number of devices and usable scenarios and automations.
-Maximum number of devices:For devices that use the proprietary radio protocol (radio frequency 868 MHz), you can add up to 100 devices.
The actual maximum number may vary depending on individual usage. This limit is typically only reached with very large smart home installations, which are rather rare in a typical single-family home or apartment.
Please note that exceeding these limits may result in noticeably slower usage speed or the Smart Home Controller may no longer start.
Therefore, plan your smart home installation carefully and take these limits into account. If you have any further questions, we are happy to assist you!
