Linus® Smart Lock (Assa Abloy / Yale) - Operation
Linus® Smart Lock (Assa Abloy / Yale) - Operation
Yale Smart Locks that have been previously used must be reset to factory settings before they can be set up by a new owner. If you want to set up a used device that was not reset to factory settings before you acquired it, Yale must first obtain permission from the previous owner before you can successfully reset the device.
It can take up to 30 days for the previous owner to respond to your request. If you purchased the lock directly from another person or a third-party vendor, you can contact them and ask them to reset the device to speed up the process. Once the device has been reset to factory settings, you will receive a notification and can proceed with setting up the device.
If you purchased the device from a retailer as a new device, contact them to arrange an exchange.
To use the Yale Linus® Smart Lock with the "Access Control" service, you need a Bosch Smart Home Outdoor Camera in addition to the Bosch Smart Home System, which is installed next to the Yale Linus® Smart Lock. As soon as the Bosch Smart Home Outdoor Camera detects movement, you will be notified via your smartphone. When you click on the notification, you will see the live stream directly in your Bosch Smart Home App. You have the option to talk to the visitor and see them. With the unlock button, you can now open the door for your visitor. Please note that some of the listed features may not be available at the launch of the Yale Linus® Smart Lock in the Bosch Smart Home System.
Using the Bosch Smart Home Twist or the Bosch Smart Home Universal Switch (Flex) as well as the Universal Switch II, you have the option to lock the Yale Linus® Smart Lock even without your smartphone.
Unlocking the Yale Linus® Smart Lock is not possible for security reasons.
By integrating your Yale Linus Smart Lock into your Bosch Smart Home system, the alarm system can be automatically deactivated and activated: As soon as the door is locked, the Yale Linus® Smart Lock sends a message to your Bosch Smart Home Controller. This then automatically activates the Bosch Smart Home alarm system. The same applies, of course, when you unlock the Yale Linus® Smart Lock. The alarm system is then automatically deactivated.
To make these settings, you must connect the Yale Linus® Smart Lock to the Bosch Smart Home alarm system in the automations (under "Scenarios"). This means that you create the Yale Linus® Smart Lock as an "If" function. For example, "IF Yale Linus® Smart Lock is locked" "THEN activate alarm system".
Please note that some of the listed functions may not be available at the launch of the Yale Linus® Smart Lock in the Bosch Smart Home system.
With the integration of the Yale Linus® Smart Lock into your Bosch Smart Home System, you will never forget to lock your house door again. Using an automation in the Bosch Smart Home App, you can lock the Yale Linus® Smart Lock depending on the time of day. Please note that some of the listed features may not be available at the launch of the Yale Linus® Smart Lock in the Bosch Smart Home System.
Retracting the latch only works on doors that have a knob on the outside of the door. Doors that have a handle on the outside are excluded from this function. Check in the Yale HOME app whether the lock was configured with a handle. If so, this must be changed in the Yale HOME app. Reset the lock to factory settings, delete it from the Bosch Smart Home app, then pair it again, configure it according to the desired settings and reconnect it to the Bosch Smart Home app.
The response time of your Bosch Smart Home system may be too long. The system needs a certain amount of time to deactivate the alarm system when the lock has been unlocked. The response time varies from system to system and depends, among other things, on how many products you have integrated into the Bosch Smart Home system.
A possible solution could be: Increase the deactivation time in the respective alarm profile in the alarm system. Another option may be that you have activated the auto-lock settings in the Yale HOME app. This causes the lock to automatically lock again repeatedly. You can adjust this via the Yale HOME app.
You can also find a solution in the Bosch Smart Home app. Under automations, when activating the alarm system, deselect the lock type "Auto-Lock" for the trigger "when lock is locked". This means that the alarm system will not be activated when the lock is locked via auto-lock.
Please note that some of the listed functions may not be available at the launch of the Yale Linus® Smart Lock in the Bosch Smart Home system.
There is no upper limit on Yale Linus® Smart Locks. However, please note that you need a Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge for each Yale Linus® Smart Lock.
The Bosch Smart Home outdoor camera may have interpreted shadows as movement. Changing the sensitivity setting in the Smart Camera App can help:
For security reasons, the "unlock" function is not offered as an action for scenarios & automations. If a knob is mounted on the outside of the door, the lock is calibrated so that the latch is retracted when unlocking and the door springs open. If the door is stiff, under tension, or pushed open by a draft, the lock can no longer be locked.
Applies to automations, but also to scenarios, since scenarios can also be integrated as actions in automations.
