Eyes Outdoor Camera - Installation
My Bosch Smart Home camera does not recognize the QR code. What can I do (installation, WLAN, settings)?
Your app generates a QR code based on your SSID (wifi name), password, and connection key to allow the camera to connect to your home network and to the Bosch Cloud. Hold the QR code in front of your camera lens at a distance of about 5-30 cm in normal daylight. Once the camera has detected a correct QR code, a confirmation tone (Bing) will sound and the camera will glow solid green. After that, a blue flashing light indicates the connection establishment to the Bosch Cloud. As soon as the connection is established, a continuous blue light is displayed for about 30 seconds.
Please note: If the WLAN settings of your router have changed, but the camera has not yet been relearned, a sound signal will be generated indicating the unsuccessful connection. Important: Please do not add a new camera, but use the "Camera Settings >> More" in your Bosch Smart Home Camera app and adjust the WLAN settings accordingly. Make sure that there is sufficient lighting.
What should be considered when mounting the Eyes outdoor camera (installation, range)?
Ideally, place your Eyes outdoor camera in a location where power is already connected (e.g. existing outdoor light). Always mount the camera vertically and at the recommended height between 1.5 and 2.5m.
Please also see our installation video in this article. If you have problems viewing the video, you can also find our installation and reset videos on our Bosch Smart Home Youtube Channel at the following addressLink.

2. if the WLAN is not sufficient, then you can change the WLAN
To do this, go to Change Wi-Fi and follow the steps from the app.

- keep longer by marking a clip as a favorite
- export to the memory of the device you use and keep it there for the duration you want.
Regardless of the 30-day period mentioned above, the upper limit in the online storage is 200 clips. If this number is exceeded by newly created clips, the oldest clips and those not marked as favorites are automatically deleted.

How can I install the Bosch outdoor camera (installation, mounting)?
To install the Bosch outdoor camera, you will need the Bosch Smart Camera app, the accessories included in the package, and a drill and screwdriver if necessary. It is highly recommended to have the Bosch Smart Home Eyes outdoor camera installed by a professional company. Please also refer to our installation video on this page or on ourBosch Smart Home Youtube Channel.
Further details can be found in theOperating / installation instructions.
Where is the best place to position my Bosch Smart Home Eyes outdoor camera (installation, mounting)?
Ideally, place your Eyes outdoor camera in a location where there is already a power supply (e.g. old outdoor light, Motion detector). You determine your recording area by the variable manual alignment of the lens and via the app.
If required, you can hide certain image areas for recording. Motion detection works particularly precisely when the passive infrared sensor is positioned so that moving objects cross the monitoring field horizontally.
Furthermore, avoiding direct sunlight/reflection is helpful.

Can I use my Bosch Eyes outdoor camera as an intercom (functions, information)?
Yes, you can talk via two-way communication using the camera. This means that the camera has both a microphone and a speaker.
Is it possible to remotely access the Bosch Eyes outdoor camera (connection, functions, recording, WLAN)?
Yes, remote access is always possible if both the camera and the smartphone have Internet access. For this, both components do not have to be in the same WLAN network.
The prerequisite is a sufficiently good Internet reception on the smartphone (via 3G/4G).
My Bosch Eyes outdoor camera does not detect motion. What can I do (detection, recording, requirements, connection, range)?
Check if the camera is powered and the phone is connected to the Internet. If both are working, please contact ourCustomer support.
After how many seconds does the light go out again when nothing is moving (illumination, detection, motion light, outdoor camera, Eyes outdoor camera)?
The lighting duration when motion is detected can be controlled via the app. Under Settings >> Lighting >> Motion light. Currently selectable are 30 seconds, 1 minute and 5 minutes.
What can I do if the outdoor camera light turns on too late(illumination, detection)?
If the camera has been installed in an anteroom at the end of an ascending staircase, the vertical monitoring angle of just under 80° in total (about 40° down/up respectively) may not be sufficient for timely detection of the movement. We recommend three possible solutions:
Set the sensitivity of the Motion detector to "high".
2. create rules for lighting that it is activated on a timed basis.
3. do not have the light activated on a time-controlled basis, but on a twilight-controlled basis. With this setting, the ambient light illuminates the stairs. When movement is detected, the front light comes on and provides even more brightness.
How can I reset my Bosch Eyes outdoor camera to factory settings (Reset)?
To reset your Bosch smart home camera, please follow the steps below:
1. switch on the power supply.
Wait until the startup process of the camera is completed. You can recognize this by the fact that the camera in the upper area is no longer constantly red and, if motion detection was switched on, the light of the outdoor lighting is switched on.
3. now you have 2 minutes to perform the reset procedure.
Press with a pointed object (for example a paper clip) into the small hole at the lower part of the camera and keep it pressed until the status LED in the upper part of the camera flashes red.
The initiated reboot takes about 90 seconds. After this step is complete, the camera flashes green.
Now your Bosch Smart Home Eyes outdoor camera is ready to be reinstalled and the QR code scanned (startup). Please also note our reset video on this page or on ourBosch Smart Home Youtube Channel.
Can I also share my Bosch Smart Camera streams with relatives and friends via the Bosch Smart Home System App (360° indoor camera, Eyes outdoor camera, Eyes outdoor camera II, prerequisites, access app)?
No, this function remains reserved for the Bosch Smart Camera app and will continue to be available for unrestricted use via this app.
Sharing the video stream via the Bosch Smart Home System app is only possible for users who use the same credentials, i.e. access the same streams.
Can I use the Bosch Smart Camera App at the same time or together with the Bosch Smart Home System App (360° indoor camera, Eyes outdoor camera, Eyes indoor camera II, Prerequisites, Access App)?
Yes, you can. We still recommend using the Bosch Smart Camera app to manage your Bosch Smart Camera settings. In some cases, this will also be able to play back the live video a bit more smoothly.
If two users access the camera with different apps at the same time and make settings, the input of the user who last made a setting applies.
