No, the Smart Home Smoke alarm is only suitable for apartments and residential houses.
My Smoke alarm is no longer accessible and has a bad connection. What can I do (installation, mounting, empty battery, range)?
Check whether the Smoke alarm can still be controlled manually (test alarm). If this is the case, it is possible that the distance between the controller and the component is too great or that other products are having a disruptive effect on the connection.
You can use the repeater function of the Smart Home plug to improve the connection quality if necessary.
Make sure that the Smoke alarm is at least 1 meter away from the controller when testing.
I do not want to network all my Smoke alarms. Is there a possibility to remove individual devices from the network (installation, settings, functions)?
No, this is currently not possible.
How do I test the Smoke alarm (information, installation)?
Your Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm has a function test that you can trigger at any time using your app.
Open corresponding Smoke alarm in your app >> Display additional functions >> Start test alarm
What are the requirements for the adhesive mounting of the Smart Home Smoke alarm (mounting, installation)?
Adhesive mounting of the Smoke alarm is only suitable for smooth surfaces, e.g. wood veneers or painted metals. Plastered surfaces do not provide sufficient long-term adhesion due to their coarse porosity.
In the case of plastered concrete ceilings, plaster may even peel off over a large area, e.g. when a detector is dismantled. Further information can be found in theInstallation instructions.
How are the Smoke alarms networked (connection, information)?
In the event of a smoke alarm, not only the reporting Smoke alarm triggers, but also all other Smoke alarms integrated in your system. Via push message and in your app, you can see at any time in which room the alarm was triggered.
The same applies to the burglar alarm. If you have activated the auditory alarm, all connected Smoke alarms will trigger with a corresponding signal tone.
I have lost the adhesive tape for mounting my Smoke alarm. Which tape can I use (requirements, mounting, installation)?
To mount the Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm, purchase and use 3Mâ„¢ VHBâ„¢ Adhesive Tape 5952.
Where is the QR code on my Smoke alarm (installation)?
The QR code is located on the back of your device.
What is the emergency light on the Smoke alarm for (functions, information)?

Can I reach a distant Smart Home Smoke alarm via a repeater/signal booster (connection, range, information)?
Yes, the Bosch Smart plug can act as a repeater/signal amplifier here. To activate the range extension of the Smart plugs, open the device settings of the Smart plug and activate the item "Range extension".
How many Smoke alarms can I network in my Smart Home system (number, maximum, requirements, information)?
You can integrate a maximum of 40 Smoke alarms into your Smart Home system.

Smoke alarm - Operation
Smoke alarm - Operation
Why is there no notification in the Smart Home app in case of Smoke alarm (Information, Smoke alarm)?
If a Smoke alarm detects smoke for less than 10 seconds, the other Smoke alarms in the system are informed, but not the Smart Home controller. The Smoke alarm leaves the alarm state when no more smoke has been detected (alarm ended). This means that the Twinguards integrated in the system are not set to alarm status.
What can I do if my Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm triggers a false alarm (contamination, prerequisites)?
In the event of a false alarm from a Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm, the smoke chamber should be checked for debris. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact theServiceturn.
Can I change the battery on my Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm (dead battery, requirements, installation)?
No. A non-replaceable 3 V lithium battery is installed in the Smoke alarm. You will be informed in good time via your app and acoustically via the Smoke alarm when the capacity of the battery is about to be exhausted. Then replace the Smoke alarm.

or under0711 99882733 (for Germany, the service is free of charge, telephone charges may apply according to your tariff. Contact details for other markets can be found here: Smart Home Contact)
.What happens when a Smoke alarm or Twinguard detects a fire (functions, sound, information)?
Your Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm/Twinguard starts emitting a loud signal. All other installed Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarms and Twinguards will also trigger.
All connected smart lights will turn yellow and the Light controls will come on to illuminate your escape route.
All integrated Shutter controls raise the shutters to clear the escape route.
In addition, you receive a notification on your smartphone and can alert the fire department directly via your app. You can mute the additional Smoke alarms and Twinguards via the app.
For safety reasons, you cannot deactivate the failing Smoke alarm via the app.
How do I reset my Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm (reset, reset)?
To perform a reset on your Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm and reset it, follow these steps:
Unscrew the Smoke alarm from the socket and wait 30 seconds.
Press and hold the button of the Smoke alarm.
Screw the Smoke alarm back into the socket.
After a short time, the Smoke alarm should flash orange.
Release the button briefly, press it again and hold it down until the flashing stops.
Release the button. If the reset is successful, the Smoke alarm flashes green briefly and orange every 10 seconds. If the reset is unsuccessful, the Smoke alarm flashes red once.
After the successful reset, the Smoke alarm can be set up again as usual. For this, please also note our reset video on this page or on ourBosch Smart Home Youtube Channel.
What happens if I accidentally set off the burglar alarm when I get home and my phone battery is dead (Functions, Settings, Automations, Twist, Universal switch)?
Besides the known deactivation in our Smart Home app, you have the following additional options to deactivate:
1. scenario "Coming home" as assignment on the Smart Home Universal switch/Universal switch Flex
2. scenario "Coming home" as assignment on the Twist. Smoke alarms and Twinguards are muted after 5 minutes. However, the Phillips Hue lamps continue to flash red. The alarm condition will continue to be maintained until deactivated by the user.
How can I deactivate the Smoke alarm temporarily/temporarily, e.g. for drilling or cooking (settings, information)?
By pressing the operating button, i.e. with triggering of the test alarm, the detector goes into hush mode (muting) after 3x flashing. This runs for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, it returns to normal mode (operation mode).
So during these 10 minutes you can start actions like drilling or cooking without the Smoke alarm detecting an alarm - this is signaled by the flashing.
What happens in case of an intrusion alarm when I press the button of an integrated Smart Home Smoke alarm (requirements, information)?
This has no effect. For security reasons, the burglar alarm can only be deactivated in the Bosch Smart Home app. This means that a burglar cannot deactivate the alarm on his own.
What happens in case of a Smoke alarm when I press a button of another networked Smoke alarm (information)?
In this case, the alarms will stop at those networked Smoke alarms to which the alarm was forwarded. Only the alarm at the triggering Smoke alarm remains active.
Does the Smoke alarm emit different sounds for intrusion and smoke alarm (functions, information)?
Yes, the Smoke alarm emits three tones in quick succession when the burglar alarm is triggered. The Smoke alarm emits tones at regular intervals, similar to other common smoke alarms.
Smoke alarm - General
Smoke alarm - General
According to the law, the Smoke alarm must be tested once a year. Can this be replaced by the Smart Home Smoke alarm and the test alarm? What is the legal situation (information)?
Smoke alarms must be regularly maintained and their function checked. The responsibility for installation and maintenance varies by federal state in Germany.
Whether tenants or landlords are responsible for maintenance and installation is regulated in the relevant state building code and in the application standard for Smoke alarms (DIN 14676).
A function test can be made on site via the control button on the Smoke alarm or via the app. The distinction according to the responsibility between landlord and tenant is important because the app and the private data of the Bosch Smart Home user linked to it are not intended for the landlord in a tenancy relationship. In addition, the Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarms do not offer the possibility for landlords to perform maintenance and a functional test via remote access and to create a log of this test.
The above information applies to Germany. In Austria, UK and France, other regulations may apply. Bosch Smart Home recommends a monthly check beyond the legal requirement.
Has the design of the Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm been tested (information)?
Yes, the design of the Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm has been tested and confirmed by the KRIWAN test laboratory.
How do I make a service request for Ferion Smoke alarms?
The Ferion Smoke alarms are not part of the Bosch Smart Home product portfolio.
The product range of Ferion Smoke alarms has been withdrawn from the Bosch Security Systems division offering the product.
In case of complaints or requests for replacement, please contact us with your contact details and a copy of the invoice to the following e-mail address:servicezentrum.elektrowerkzeuge@de.bosch.com.
Here you can find product information about our smart Smoke alarms.
Does the Smoke alarm also work if there is no connection to the Smart Home controller (requirements, functions)?
Yes. If there is no connection to the Smart Home controller, the Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm will continue to function as an ordinary smoke alarm and will reliably alert you to fire and smoke. However, information can only be forwarded to the Bosch Smart Home app if there is a connection to the Smart Home controller.
How does the Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm react in the event of an intrusion alarm (functions, settings)?
If you have activated the Alarm system service, all connected Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarms emit an acoustic signal. The prerequisite for this is that the "Audible alarm" action is set to the "On" value in the alarm system. To receive a notification, you must be connected to the Internet with your smartphone. You will receive a corresponding notification in your app. In addition, you will receive a push message on your smartphone.
What is the Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm (functions, information)?
The smart, networked Smoke alarm from Bosch Smart Home alerts you when smoke is detected - and also sounds the alarm loudly when other components in the system report conspicuous events.
Whether you fill the house with guests or leave it empty during your vacation, the networked Smoke alarm from Bosch Smart Home always stays alert. It reports smoke development immediately: on site via siren and on the go, via notification in the app. The Smoke alarm's siren is also used when the Motion detectors or Door/window contacts of your Smart Home system report unusual events. With a loud alarm, it beats uninvited guests into flight. In this way, the Smoke alarm protects your home twice: from fire hazards and intruders.
You can find out more about the Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm on theProduct page in our Bosch Smart Home Webshop.
What exactly does the Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm include?
You can find the exact scope of delivery of the Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm on the correspondingProduct pageof our webshop.
Are Smoke alarms mandatory (information)?
Yes, smoke alarms are mandatory in all German federal states. Detailed information on the regulation in the individual federal states can be found at www.rauchmelder-lebensretter.de.
In Austria, almost all federal states have regulations for new, renovated and existing buildings. Often, these regulations even apply to all common rooms in your home.
Different rules may apply in the UK and France.
Why should I use a Smoke alarm (information)?
A Smoke alarm can save lives. There are about 6,000 serious fire injuries every year in Germany alone. About 80% of all fire accidents happen in private homes. About 70% of the affected fire victims are surprised at night while sleeping.
A Smoke alarm detects and reports fire hazards at an early stage and can thus prevent accidents and injuries. The above statistics apply only to Germany and may differ in Austria, the UK and France.
What happens in the event of an intrusion alarm when I press the button of an integrated Smart Home Smoke alarm or Twinguard (functions, settings)?
For security reasons, the alarm in the event of a burglary alarm can only be deactivated in the Bosch Smart Home app. This ensures that a burglar cannot deactivate the alarm on his own. So nothing happens if you press the button of an integrated Smart Home Smoke alarm or Twinguard during a burglary alarm.
In which rooms must the Smoke alarm be installed (information)?
Smoke alarm should be installed in all living rooms (living room, bedroom, hallways). Other rooms, such as the kitchen, are not suitable. You can find more information in theInstruction manual.
Where do I ideally mount the Smoke alarm (installation, mounting)?
Mount your Smoke alarm centrally in the room. It should be at least 50 cm away from the walls. Roof slopes of up to 20° are also possible. Important rooms are, for example, bedrooms, living rooms and hallways. You can find detailed information on this in theInstallation instructions.
How long do the batteries of the Smoke alarm last (installation, mounting, empty battery)?
The battery of the Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm lasts more than 10 years (with typical use, typical storage temperature -5 °C to +30 °C, typical battery temperature -5 °C to +30 °C, and monthly function test). High temperatures above 30 °C shorten the service life.
Additionally, the number of interactions with the device - such as teach-in attempts, resets, alarm tests, frequent triggering of an alarm - can negatively impact battery life.
A non-replaceable 3 V lithium battery is installed in the Smoke alarm. You will be informed in good time via your app and acoustically via the Smoke alarm when the capacity of the battery is about to be exhausted. Then replace the Smoke alarm.
We recommend to replace all Smoke alarms after 10 years of use, because the reliability decreases due to contamination of the system and aging of the components.
How loud is the Smoke alarm during a test alarm or fire alarm (information, sound)?
The Smoke alarm has a sound pressure level of approx. 87 db(A) for all two alarms, measured at a distance of 3 meters. If you have any questions about the measurement method, please feel free to contact ourCustomer support.
What is the principle of the Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm (measured value, information)?
The Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm works according to the photoelectric scattered light principle. A light source continuously sends light beams into the measuring chamber of the Smoke alarm. Normally, the light beams miss the photocell installed there. However, if smoke particles are in the air, the light beams are scattered and can be detected by the photocell. When a limit value is exceeded, the smoke alarm is triggered.
Can the Bosch Ferion Smoke alarm be integrated into the Bosch Smart Home System (requirements)?
No, only the Bosch Smart Home Smoke alarm and the Bosch Smart Home Twinguard can be integrated into the Bosch Smart Home system.
