Relay - Installation
When is Bosch Smart Home Relay available in Apple Home Kit (settings, installation, requirements , voice control)?
Bosch Smart Home Relay is expected to be available in Apple Home Kit by the end of Q2.
My Bosch Smart Home Relay flashes orange when I try to connect it. What does this mean (connection, installation)?
The teach-in mode of your Bosch Smart Home Relay is active or the Bosch Smart Home Relay is communicating with the Bosch Smart Home controller.
My Bosch Smart Home Relay flashes green when I teach it. What does this mean (installation)?
Your Bosch Smart Home Relay was successfully taught or the process was confirmed.
My Bosch Smart Home Relay flashes red when I try to connect it. What does this mean (connection, installation)?
The teach-in or operation has failed.
Where can I find connection diagrams for the installation of my Bosch Smart Home Relay (Installation)?
To consult the various connection diagrams of your Bosch Smart Home Relay, please refer to the enclosed user manual.
Do I need to replace my existing switch or pushbutton to use the Bosch Smart Home Relay (requirements, installation)?
No, the Bosch Smart Home Relay does not have to be combined with a switch or pushbutton. If you want to combine the Relay with a Tater or switch, this is possible. In this case, you can install the Relay behind the existing switch/button.
What is the difference between pulse control and on/off circuit (Relay) (settings, installation, requirements)?
The pulse control is designed to control a current impulse relay with a current pulse (adjustable between 0.5, 1 or 2 seconds), e.g. for a staircase light (a button is simulated). In on/off switching, the Relay outputs the signal until the next actuation (a switch is simulated).
I have not yet been able to set up a controller and the installer is already here. Can I also operate the Relay "offline" (settings, installation)?
From the factory, the Relay is in ON/OFF mode and configured for an ON/OFF switch. Therefore, if you connect a pushbutton, current will only flow as long as you keep the pushbutton pressed.
When pairing to the HOME controller, you can then select the optimal configuration for you in the Pairing Wizard.
What pulse length can be set for the Relay (settings, installation)?
During teach-in, values of 0.5, 1 and 2 seconds can be set. Under the device settings (More--> Devices --> corresponding Relay) you can additionally set the values 3, 4, 5,...20 seconds after the teach-in.
My Bosch Smart Home Relay does not fit together with the switch in the device box. What can I do (mounting)?
We will soon provide an accessory that will allow you to install the Relay' in the existing flush-mounted box in a space-saving manner.
The accessories can also be combined with rockers and frames of a large part of switch series of well-known brand manufacturers.

How do I reset the Bosch Smart Home Relay to factory settings (reset)?
To reset the Bosch Smart Home Relay to factory default settings, press and hold the system button until the status LED flashes orange rapidly. Release the system button briefly and press again until the LED lights up green. The Bosch Smart Home Relay will now restart. Please note that it may take a few seconds for the Bosch Smart Home Relay to become operational again.
Alternatively, the following procedure is also possible: In the installed state with the pushbutton connected:
Press the button 12 times in a maximum period of 10 seconds.
If the rest was successful, the connected lamp flashes again briefly.
The device will then restart.
To re-teach the device, you must first delete it in the Smart Home APP.
My Bosch Smart Home Relay flashes red every 15 seconds. What does this mean (connection, installation)?
The Relay has lost the connection to the Smart Home controller. If there is no loss of connection, the Relay may be defective, in this case contact our service.
What does potential-free switching mean for the Bosch Smart Home Relay (settings, installation, requirements)?
Floating means that the Bosch Smart Home Relay opens and closes a contact in the connected circuit. The Relay works like a conventional ON/OFF switch, which only interrupts or briefly closes the circuit (pushbutton). The Realis becomes "smart" by being controlled via the Bosch Smart Home APP and integrated into scenarios and automations.
Can the Relay also be used for DC voltage (settings, installation, requirements)?
The device itself needs a power supply of 230V/50Hz for operation, but AC circuits with lower voltages and DC circuits can also be connected to the potential-free output (up to 24 volts at max. 8 amps)
Do I need to connect a switch to the Releais (settings, installation, requirements)?
The use of an external switch is optional. All required functions (e.g. reset to factory settings or start pairing mode) are also possible via the system key on the device
I cannot create scenarios for my Relay, what is the reason (functions, automations)?
This feature has not yet been implemented at the system level. We are currently working on the implementation of this feature and it is expected to be made available with the next update.

What is the Bosch Smart Home Relay (Functions)?
With the potential-free Relay you can switch almost any circuit or generate a current pulse for control devices. With the potential-free Relay you can switch almost any circuit or generate a current pulse for control devices. So it is possible to control e.g. also the garden irrigation or the button of the garage door smart.
Can I use my Bosch Smart Home Relay outdoors (prerequisites)?
Your Bosch Smart Home Relay can also be used outdoors if you use it in a suitable protective housing (e.g. IP66).
Can I control multiple devices with the Bosch Smart Home Relay (functions, requirements)?
You can only control one circuit at a time. However, you can integrate several devices into this circuit up to the power limit according to the type plate.
Can my Bosch Smart Home Relay measure energy consumption (functions)?
Since the Bosch Smart Home Relay is a floating contact, it is not possible to measure the energy consumption.
What radio protocol does the Bosch Smart Home Relay use (requirements)?
The Bosch Smart Home Relay uses the ZigBee 3.0 radio protocol and also serves as a range extender for other ZigBee 3.0 devices.
What is the difference between Bosch Smart Home Relay and Bosch Smart Home Light/shutter control II (functions)?
Light/shutter control II supplies connected devices with 230V/50Hz up to 500W per channel. The Relay, on the other hand, only interrupts the existing circuit of a device that is supplied with mains power or another voltage source.
