Whether as smart shutters, sun blind and Venetian blind control or a smart light switch, if you’d prefer: During installation, you choose how you want to use the smart helper – and can change its use again if you need to.

Install
out of sight

Whether behind existing switches or junction boxes indoors, or in weatherproof installation sockets outdoors – the Smart Home shutter control can be installed out of sight anywhere.

Control shutters, Venetian blinds and sun blinds using voice commands

Control shutters conveniently with your voice

You wake up and reach for your smartphone right away – many people want to kick this habit.

Luckily there’s another way of letting the morning sun in without having to leave your nice, warm bed:

The Bosch Smart Home shutter control is compatible with the voice assistants Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri.

So in the future, all you need to say is:

“Hey, Siri / Hey, Google / Alexa, set the shutters in my bedroom to 50%.”

Just like this, you can also control Venetian blinds - and with Siri, you even can shout to your sun blinds from your sun lounger if you want a bit of shade.

Flexible control of your shutters, Venetian blinds and sun blinds

Flexible control of your shutters etc.

It looks as it did before, but it’s smarter: Your Bosch Smart Home shutter control is simply installed under your existing wall switch* – without an additional adapter. This opens up completely new possibilities for controlling your electric shutters, Venetian blinds or sun blinds.

  • Via switch
  • Via the app – at home or when you’re out
  • Via voice command
  • Via automations
  • Via custom scenarios – to group together several shutters/devices

*No switch is needed if you wish to install it in a junction box.

Improve the room climate with the smart shutter control

Improve the room climate

Custom automations allow you to wake up gently with the sun as the shutters go up automatically when the sun rises, but they also offer so much more.

With targeted shutter control following the if/then principle, you can also optimise your room climate with ease:

  • Preventing overheating in summer : IF the room temperature exceeds 23° THEN the shutters come down automatically.
  • Preventing heat loss in winter : The shutters act as an additional layer of insulation and come down automatically and promptly when the sun goes down.

Smart shutter control opens up escape routes when the smoke alarm is triggered

Opening up escape routes during a smoke alarm

When there’s a fire, every second counts: leaving the house and getting to safety is crucial!

The shutter control in your smart home makes it easier for you to escape in an emergency. It is part of the fire safety alarm system , a pre-configured service.

This means that the shutters go up automatically a few seconds after your smart smoke alarm is triggered.

This frees up your escape routes and gives the fire brigade a way in to extinguish the fire – and, if in doubt, it can save lives.

Child lock & protection functions

Child lock & protection functions that you can trust

Up, down, up, down, up – your little ones probably think the shutter control in your Smart Home is a great game.

This is why the child lock function in the app allows you to block the manual operation at the switch.

In addition, the built-in device protection function for device temperature and overload provides additional safety and automatically switches off the device if necessary.

Using the light/shutter control as a light control

Or as a light control?

The light/shutter control II is a real all-rounder that can control lighting or shade.

When integrating the device into your Smart Home system, you can simply decide what you want to use it for:

Select “Shutter control” under “Add new device” – and you already have all the options for controlling electric shutters, Venetian blinds or sun blinds.

After a while though, would you rather use the smart helper for light control purposes, e.g. after moving house? No problem:

Important information and requirements for installation

When used as a shutter control, the light/shutter control II can be used to regulate electric drives at 230 volts (switching current up to 2 A, cos Φ = 0.8).

You should take note of the following:

  • The compact size of the light/shutter control II is 40.5 x 47 x 22 mm (HxWxD).
  • When installing as in in-wall control, a depth of min. 50 mm is therefore required. Ideally, a socket depth of more than 60 mm is recommended.
  • The light/shutter control II itself requires a constant power supply with conductor and neutral conductor.
  • The shutter control may only be installed by authorised specialists.

Accessories for ideal installation

The device does not fit together with your switch in the device box?

Our wall switch is an accessory that enables you to install your Bosch Smart Home actuators in a space-saving manner. The integrated adapter means that the rocker and frame supplied can also be replaced with covers from common switch series.

The extra flat design and integrated mounting aids for the cables and the module facilitate compact installation from an installation depth of 30 mm.

The switch has two button outputs, allowing it to be used for the light/shutter control II as well as for dimmers or relays with only one output each.

Here’s how it works

Setting the height and tilt angle

Setting the height and tilt angle

You can set whether you want to control shutters, a Venetian blind or a sun blind when configuring the shutter control in your Smart Home system.

Depending on your selection, you have the following control options:

  • Smart Home shutter control : Opening and closing them (completely) or specifying a certain position (height of 0-100%)
  • Smart Home Venetian blind control : Opening and closing it (completely) or specifying a certain position (height of 0-100%) as well as setting the slats (tilt angle of 0-100%)
  • Smart Home sun blind control : Extending and retracting it (completely) or specifying a certain position (opening degree of 0-100%)

This leaves you perfectly protected against the sun.

Control groups of devices: create scenarios

Control groups of devices: create scenarios

In scenarios, you can group together several devices and control them all at once.

In this way, for instance, you can close all the shutters in a room or on a floor with just a tap of your finger or voice command.

Also handy: create your custom “Leaving home” scenario. Here, you can group together all the everyday actions and activate these with just one click before you close the front door behind you with peace of mind:

  • The morning shutter control
  • Switching off the lights
  • Turning down the thermostats
  • Switching off electrical appliances
  • Checking the windows are closed
  • Activating the alarm system

In your Smart Home, all these things now happen automatically when you activate the corresponding scenario.

Create automations

Create automations

Shutter control at the push of a button is good... but shutters that can think for themselves are better.

You can create custom automations with ease following the if/then principle in the Bosch Smart Home app :

  • triggers could be certain days of the week or times of day, for instance, which results in custom shutter control via timer : when it’s 6:30 a.m. on working days, all the shutters in the house go up.
  • Flexible times of day can also be used as triggers, for example : when the sun sets, the shutters in the living room come down.
  • Other smart devices can also be incorporated into this, for example : when the room thermostat measures a temperature above than 25° in the living room, the shutters come down to prevent overheating.
  • Or you can combine several conditions, for example : IF the sun is setting AND the light is on in the dining room, THEN the shutters in the dining room are lowered – this gives you privacy, because after all, you don’t want the neighbours to see everything.

Extending the radio signal range for smart devices

Extending the radio signal range for smart devices

Got a big Smart Home? The light/shutter control also automatically extends the radio signal for certain devices.

This allows you to use your smart helpers in faraway places as well, such as the cellar and attic – and you can still be sure that the radio signal of the Bosch Smart Home controller will reliably reach them. The shutter control is also perfectly suited for amplifying the radio signal, particularly outdoors for example, for your outdoor sirens as most of these are affixed to exterior walls.

The light/shutter control acts as a repeater for the following devices:
