Room Thermostat - Installation
Room Thermostat - Installation
The Room thermostat does not fit into the flush-mounted box. Are there certain specifications or standards that I must comply with here (assembly, requirements, installation, Room thermostat floor heating)?
In Germany, flush-mounted boxes normally have a depth of 50 mm. This is sufficient for our thermostats.
In older households, the flush-mounted boxes are sometimes only 40 mm deep. For this application, there are so-called flat boxes, which have a depth of only 35 mm.
Please note that parts of the described products and their functions may only be available in Germany and Austria.
Where in the room should I place the Room thermostat (mounting, installation)?
It is best to install the Room thermostat in a place in the room where you usually are, i.e. approximately near the sofa in the living room at a height of about 1.50m. If possible, do not mount the device on an outside wall, near a window, near a heat source or a place with direct or indirect sunlight.
How to install the Room thermostat (installation, mounting)?
The Room thermostat can be installed in a few simple steps. All you need is the Bosch Smart Home app and the accessories included in the packaging. After starting the Bosch Smart Home app, you will be guided through the individual installation steps.
The device does not start after inserting the battery. The display remains dark. What can I do (Room thermostat, Radiator thermostat, Empty battery)?
Both the Room thermostat and the Radiator thermostat may cause the display to remain dark when the batteries are changed. It seems as if the batteries are empty.
In this case, please remove the batteries and press the buttons on the devices several times. After reinserting the batteries, the devices should now be accessible again without any problems.

Where can the humidity measured by the Room thermostat be viewed (installation, settings)?
The humidity is shown on the display of the device, as well as in the app under the room overview.
What is the battery life of the Room thermostat (Empty battery)?
The typical lifetime of the batteries is at least 1 year with typical use. If the battery capacity drops below a critical level, the Bosch Smart Home app will inform you in good time.
The battery symbol also lights up on the display of the device and starts to flash.
How many Radiator thermostats or Smart plugs can I connect to one Room thermostat (requirements, installation)?
You can directly connect up to 6 devices with one Room thermostat. If you have assigned several devices to one Room thermostat, you will find the corresponding overview on the device configuration page of the Room thermostat.
The excess Radiator thermostats are controlled as if there was no Room thermostat in the corresponding room. Each Radiator thermostat controls according to its own temperature measurement. The set temperature is further sent from the Smart Home controller to all devices.
How to reset the Room thermostat (Reset)?
To restore the factory state, please proceed as follows:
1. please remove at least one battery first. Please wait 20 seconds or press the setting wheel of your device again briefly after removing the battery. In this way, you ensure that the restoration of the factory state can be carried out successfully.
Then insert the battery again and keep the setting wheel pressed while inserting it.
Wait until "rES" appears on the display.
Release the setting wheel briefly, then immediately press the setting wheel again and hold it down until the LED lights up green.
Release the dial and the device will restart. The process is complete when the display shows the measured temperature and humidity again.
Why can't I use the temperature measured by the Twinguard for the room temperature (functions, information, measured value)?
The temperature sensors of the Smart Home Motion detector, Twist or Twinguard are not suitable for room temperature control, as they only take temperature measurements at irregular intervals. Only our Room and Radiator thermostats are suitable for room temperature control.

What distinguishes the Room thermostat from a Room thermostat for floor heating (functions, requirements)?

What is the Bosch Smart Home Room thermostat (functions, information)?
The Smart Home Room thermostat allows you to regulate heat even better throughout the room, making it the perfect complement to your Radiator thermostats. Control up to six radiators per room simultaneously and centrally with your Room thermostat. Instead of directly at the radiator, the smart room thermostat measures the temperature where you place it. This way, your individual desired temperature is reached exactly where it is most important to you. Especially in large rooms or with concealed radiators, temperature control becomes much more efficient with the smart Room thermostat. You save energy and gain comfort.
The Room thermostat measures the temperature not locally at the radiator, but centrally where you place it in the room. The desired temperature as well as the temperature measured at the place of installation is transmitted to the individual Radiator thermostats. These heat only as much as necessary to keep your desired temperature constant in the room. As a result, you will enjoy more heating comfort in the entire room.
