Room Thermostat - Installation
Where in the room should I install the room thermostat (optimal)?
It is best to install the room thermostat at a point in the room where you are usually located, i.e. approximately near the sofa in the living room at a height of about 1.50m. If possible, do not mount the unit on an outside wall, near a window, near a heat source or in a place exposed to direct or indirect sunlight. Please also see our installation video in this article. The device does not start after inserting the battery. The display remains dark. What can I do (room thermostat, radiator thermostat)?
Both the room thermostat and the radiator thermostat may have a dark display when the batteries are changed. It looks like the batteries are dead. In this case, please remove the batteries and press the buttons on the units several times. After the batteries have been replaced, the devices should now be accessible again without any problems.
The room thermostat does not fit into the flush box. Are there any particular specifications or standards that I have to comply with?
In Germany, flush-mounted boxes normally have a depth of 50 mm. This is sufficient for our thermostats. In older households, the flush-mounted sockets are sometimes only 40 mm deep. Even today there are still so-called flat boxes, which have a depth of only 35 mm. Please note that parts of the described products and their functions may only be available in Germany and Austria.

Room Thermostat - Operations
How many radiator thermostats or adapter plugs can I connect to one room thermostat?
You can connect up to 6 devices directly to one room thermostat. If you have assigned several devices to a room thermostat, you will find the corresponding overview on the device configuration page of the room thermostat. The surplus radiator thermostats are controlled as if there were no room thermostat in the room in question. Each radiator thermostat controls according to its own temperature measurement. The setpoint temperature is then sent from the Smart Home Controller to all devices.
What is the battery life of the room thermostat?
Typical battery life is at least 1 year for typical use. If the battery capacity drops below a critical level, the Bosch Smart Home App will inform you in good time. The battery symbol also lights up on the display of the device and starts flashing.
How does the room thermostat reset work ?
To restore the factory settings, please proceed as follows: 1. First, please remove at least one battery. Please wait 20 seconds or press the dial of your device again after removing the battery. This will ensure that the factory settings can be successfully restored. 2. Then insert the battery and keep the dial pressed while inserting the battery. 3. Wait until "rES" appears in the display. 4. Briefly release the setting wheel, then immediately press the setting wheel again and keep it pressed until the LED lights up green. 5. Release the setting wheel and the unit starts again. The process is complete when the display shows the measured temperature and humidity again. We are currently preparing a reset video, which will appear in this article. Why can't I use the temperature measured by the Twinguard for the room temperature?
The temperature sensors of the Smart Home motion sensor, the Twist or the Twinguard are not suitable for room temperature control, as they only take temperature measurements at irregular intervals. Only our room and radiator thermostats are optimized for room temperature control.
General information about the room thermostat
Room Thermostat - General Information
What is the Bosch Smart Home room thermostat?
The Smart Home room thermostat allows you to achieve best temperature regulation throughout the room and is therefore the ideal complement to your radiator thermostats. Control up to six radiators per room simultaneously and centrally with your room thermostat. Instead of measuring directly at the radiator, the smart room thermostat measures the temperature where you place it. In this way, your individual desired temperature is reached exactly where it is most important to you. Particularly in large rooms or with concealed radiators, temperature control with the smart room thermostat is much more efficient. You save energy and gain comfort at the same time. The room thermostat does not measure the temperature on the radiator like other thermostats, but at the point where you place it in the room. Your desired as well as the measured temperature is transmitted to the radiator thermostats. With a simple switch of your thermostat you can easily modify your desired temperature at any time. What distinguishes the room thermostat from a room thermostat for underfloor heating?
The room thermostat is an ideal supplement to the radiator thermostats or adapter plugs in the air-conditioning sector. Unlike the room thermostat for underfloor heating, it can be fixed anywhere in the room using screws or adhesive mounting and can be freely adjusted as a temperature sensor.
